As an Associate Systems Engineer, you will join a cohort of recent college graduates for an immersion into Palo Alto Networks platform, automation, and cybersecurity across network, endpoint, and cloud. This program includes up to 24 months of formal technical instruction with hands-on labs, both group and individual projects, technical study, and professional skills development.  As you advance through the program, you will be placed with various sales engineering teams to learn how to support customers during the pre-sales process.

While ramping on the Academy development track you will work alongside other SE teams to learn and support the other critical work with customers within the presales process. As part of your development, you will work as a technical advisor in tandem with our sales and channel partners on customer engagements, establishing relationships with customers with the goal of helping them ensure each day is more secure than the one before.

Upon completion of the program, you will have gained proven technical and professional skills, shown qualification across multiple certifications, and rotations with senior SEs to take on a field SE position in any number of cities across the US based on business needs. We are looking for a System Engineer to join our Connect division in Sydney or Melbourne, reporting to Engineering Manager – Infrastructure.

As a member of the Global Infrastructure team, you will be part of a team delivering new products and capabilities for our customers. You will be responsible for the development and deployment of systems, platforms, & infrastructure for Symbio's voice and data networks globally.

You will focus on driving infrastructure automation and ensure our deployments, both on-prem and cloud (AWS), you are resilient and repeatable across development and production environments. You will work collaboratively within your team and with other Delivery, Software and Infrastructure teams in delivering systems and services as well as ensuring we understand the health of our systems at any point in time to reduce outages.

There is an expectation that this role is part of the teams after hours support roster (level 3), which is rotated weekly for production critical platforms. As a member of the EUS Workstation Vulnerability Remediation team, Sr. Systems Engineer will report to the Manager – Endpoint Vulnerability Remediation and will be responsible for day to day operational support with timely rollout of security patches, ensuring 100% compliance, drive and implement automation efforts on both Windows and Mac environment.

Essential Functions:

• Create software packages utilizing Bigfix, JAMF and SCCM
• Understands, follows and implements best practice methodologies for monthly OS patching and vulnerability remediations of 3rd party software’s in the environment.
• Design and implement automated solution that take advantage of technology advances, allow cost reduction, standardization and commoditization.
• Drive innovation and collaboration with Operations partners globally to reduce redundant work and improve efficiency.
• Improve processes and support methodologies by assessing need and requirements.
• Manage, triage and drive resolution of Operations escalations. Be predictive, and drive reduction of those same escalations.
•  Act as the point person for Exception Management/requests
• Willing to cover and support U.S. business timings extensively

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
