Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Leadership & Development:Lead design projects from initial planning to completion, ensuring adherence to
timelines, budgets, and client specifications while delivering high-quality work.
2. Client Communication & Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their needs, presenting design concepts effectively, and maintaining strong client relationships throughout the project.
3. Budget & Cost Control: Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective design solutions without compromising quality or client satisfaction.
4. Team Coordination & Project Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal design teams, architects, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution and adherence to design concepts.
5. Design Conceptualization & Spatial Planning: Utilize advanced knowledge in spatial planning to develop functional and aesthetic design concepts in alignment with client requirements, translating ideas into comprehensive 2D and 3D visuals.
6. Proficiency in Design Software: Demonstrate strong proficiency in industry-standard software, specifically AutoCAD, SketchUp, and SU Podium, to produce accurate and detailed 2D and 3D drawings, renderings, visual presentation and design solutions as required.
7. Freehand Drawing Skills: Use strong freehand drawing skills to support design ideation, for quick concept sketches for client presentation and design ideation as needed to support project development.
8. Industry Experience & Knowledge: Utilize significant experience in Singapore’s interior design and construction industry to navigate project workflows effectively, maintain industry standards, and ensure compliance with local regulations.
9. Client Handling & Negotiation Skills: Exhibit excellent client handling skills, including building rapport, understanding client needs, negotiating project terms, and resolving any issues that arise during the course of the project.
10. Project Documentation & Reporting: Manage all project documentation accurately, including contracts, drawings, progress reports, and change orders, ensuring records are up-to-date and in compliance with company policies.
11. Quality Control & Site Supervision: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that project work aligns with design plans, quality standards, and safety regulations, making necessary adjustments to meet project specifications.
12. Risk Management & Problem Solving: Identify potential project risks or challenges proactively and provide timely and practical solutions to mitigate them, ensuring smooth project execution.
13. Continuous Learning & Improvement: ommit to continuous professional development, keeping abreast of industry trends, software advancements, and best practices to enhance the overall quality and efficiency of design projects.
Qualifications & Experience:
- The candidate must possess a minimum Specialist diploma in Interior and Landscape Design or a related field from a recognized instituion, whether local or international such as the Building Construction Academy (BCA) in Singapore.
- A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in an interior design firm or related field is required to ensure familiarity with industry processes, standards, and best practices, with specific experience in the Singapore context.
- Minimum 5 years of continuous tenure with one interior design firm, demonstrating loyalty, commitment, and in-depth understanding of the company’s operations and standards.
- Proficiency in design software: AutoCAD, SketchUp, SU Podium, and Photoshop for image post-processing and preparation of marketing materials.
- Strong freehand drawing skills and expertise in creating detailed 2D and 3D drawings for a variety of interior design projects.
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in spatial planning, design conceptualization, and client relationship management.
