We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineering Manager to lead the engineering team in the execution of complex FPSO projects within the oil and gas industry. The incumbent is responsible for the overall engineering scope, ensuring technical integrity, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of the project.
Key Duties and Responsibities:
- Perform as Technical Authority for the FPSO Engineering scope of work.
- Develop and execute the overall engineering strategy for FPSO projects, aligning with project objectives and client requirements, in accordance with the legal obligations, contract terms, scope of work, technical requirements and company policy.
- Lead and manage a team of engineers across various disciplines (e.g., process, structural, piping, electrical, instrumentation).
- Ensure the technical feasibility, integrity, and quality of engineering deliverables.
- Develop and maintain engineering schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Coordinate with other project functions (procurement, construction, commissioning) to ensure seamless project execution.
- Coordinate or interact with non-technical disciplines as required (document control, cost control, planning)
- Identify and mitigate engineering risks, developing contingency plans as required.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, and other technical assessments.
- Provide technical support to the project team and client.
- Manage, develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors.
- Contribute to the development of engineering standards and procedures (i.e. methodology improvements; and absorbing new practices from clients and partners.).
- Plan, define, award and manage various Engineering Contractor’s technical deliverables for both basic engineering and detailed design, initially to IFC and subsequently to As-Built status, as well as their timely issuance to support construction and integration activities.
- Support planning and definition of refurbishment & life extension scope of work. This activity may involve site inspection of the candidate vessel and existing documentation gathering and cataloguing.
- Provide technical support and assist troubleshooting during construction, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning and commissioning, through to start-up, and including during operating regime.
- Travel as required, including but not limited to shipyards in SE Asia region, China, Middle East region, other Yinson Offices (Oslo, Malaysia), candidate vessels (onshore/offshore), operational production units (offshore) and onshore support bases.
- Interact with and support the engineering contractors as required (including Marine Engineering, Hull Engineering, Structural Engineering, Topsides Module Engineering, Integration Engineering, LQ Engineering, Shipyard Engineering, etc) and equipment/package vendors.
- Provide input to weekly/monthly progress reporting and other relevant status information as needed.
- Participate in audits and review processes as necessary.
- Other tasks as requested by Project Manager.
- QHSSE Duties – every employee shall:
o Take care of themselves and others who may be affected by their acts or oversights;
o Not interfere with or misuse anything supplied for their health, safety and welfare;
o Report quality related problems and HSSE hazards or deficits within their area to the QHSSE department;
o Promote and take part in the QHSSE continuous improvement process.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Naval Architecture, or related field).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a strong focus on FPSO projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficient in engineering design software and tools (i.e. Navisworks).
- Good in writing Technical Reports.
- Proven track record in managing complex engineering projects from concept to commissioning.
- In-depth knowledge of FPSO systems, equipment, and operations.
- Previous leadership role at engineering contractor.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and develop engineering teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
