University College London Hospitals (UCLH) undertakes world-class research across many specialities including early phase, cancer, haematology, and neurology. As a senior research pharmacy technician (or Science Manufacturing Technician) you will be part of the pharmacy clinical trials team facilitating this research. Your key role is to set up new studies, maintain current and historical studies, and oversee the storage and receipt of clinical trials medicines. You will also be an important part of the team providing a high-quality dispensary service to our patients.


The postholder will acquire a broad overview of injectable research medicines, research delivery, dispensary management, and research governance, therefore would suit anyone with an interest in these areas. Prior experience of clinical trials or hospital pharmacy is desirable but not required.

Ideally you will be a GPhC registered pharmacy technician with 1-2 years’ experience although all training and support will be provided by our supportive team including our education & training lead. Those wishing to enrol on formal training courses can do so via external (on application) and in-house learning & development programmes.

The post-holder is responsible for the set-up of clinical trials run at UCLH and must oversee the accurate receipt of medicines from clinical trial sponsors (who supply the medicines), and storage of those medicines in a way that is safe, traceable, and accountable. They will be supported by pharmacy assistants with dispensing of medicines for clinical trial use and have direct face to face contact with patients enquiring about our services.


The core skills required include an attention to detail, good organisation skills, computer skills and good communications skills.
They will support the Principal Pharmacy Technician – Research and Clinical Trials in meeting objectives towards maintaining and developing the pharmacy clinical trial service across the Trust.

The Cancer Division is a large division with a workforce of approximately 1300 WTE and annual turnover of £240M. The Division delivers world class cancer care to patients from across the country and spans multiple sites and departments across the Trust campus. The cancer division holds operational responsibility for the Macmillan Cancer Centre and Grafton Way Building, including the proton beam centre and is responsible for 185 beds. The Division hosts and plays a leadership role in a number of regional networks including the red cell network and the sarcoma cancer network. The division also includes the cancer clinical trials unit, working closely with both UCL and the BRC to lead on the development and delivery of translational research.

This is an exciting time to join the Cancer Division due to the involvement in a number of high-profile strategic projects including the transfer of paediatric radiotherapy patients from the Marsden and a proposal to create a new Mount Vernon Cancer Centre. The Division is also leading on a number of other projects including the relaunch of the Cancer Academy, the development of an oncology acute assessment unit to improve the emergency flow of cancer patients and the expansion of radiotherapy services.

An opportunity has arisen within the Cancer Division at UCLH for a Deputy Divisional Manager. Our Uro-oncology service provides local and tertiary services from diagnosis to treatment and follow up care for prostate cancer patients. We are a busy referral unit for suspected prostate cancer and provide a fast diagnosis service in line with the best-timed pathway for prostate cancer diagnosis. We are the specialist surgery centre for patients undergoing major prostate oncology surgery and focal therapy in north and northeast London. UCLH provides non-surgical treatment modalities for prostate including proton beam radiotherapy, medical and clinical oncology inclusive of a clinical trial portfolio.

A Prostate Cancer CNS is a highly trained nurse who provides expert care, support, and guidance to patients with cancer throughout their treatment journey. They serve as a key point of contact, offering emotional support, managing symptoms, coordinating care, and helping patients navigate complex treatment options. The CNS plays a critical role in improving patient outcomes and ensuring personalized, holistic care.

This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse looking for a new challenge who has core skills and expertise in prostate cancer who would want to work in a centre of excellence with a team of clinical experts. This post offers the opportunity to participate in a wide range of adult general intensive and high dependency care in a busy mixed medical/surgical ICU/HDU admitting in excess of 2,500 patients per year.

The hospital is a tertiary referral centre for the following medical specialities: Infectious & Tropical diseases, Thoracic Medicine, Acute Stroke, Oncology, Haematology, and the following surgical services: Upper GI; Endocrine, Head & Neck, Urology/ Andrology, Gynaecology and Colorectal.

The Trust also has a busy maternity unit, and we work with our obstetric colleagues to manage high-risk pregnancies. We are a referral service for complex haematological and rheumatological conditions and you may see conditions routinely that are rarely seen elsewhere.

The unit has specialist interest in long term weaning, psychology of critical illness, acute respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, infection control, peri-operative medicine & emergency medicine, and has expertise in areas such as echocardiography, diagnostic ultrasound, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, experimental, translational and health services research.


Successful candidates will be supported to seek experience in these areas. The Rheumatology Research Department works on a portfolio of UCLH sponsored and hosted studies. We recruit to studies for adult and adolescent patients with inflammatory conditions. You will be supported to develop your clinical research nursing skills to recruit participants to rheumatology research projects following Good Clinical Practice and data protection guidelines, as well as national and local standard operating procedures.
Current studies include interventional trials of medicinal products (Phase I to IV) and observational projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with clinicians and academics in a close-knit team of research nurses and coordinators. They will be expected to develop their clinical skills and knowledge to support participants with study participation.

This is a varied role suitable for a highly proficient person with great communication skills who enjoys working across multiple projects in a collaborative manner. Candidates should be proficient computer users and have an interest in clinical research and rheumatology.

We are looking for two enthusiastic, motivated and hardworking surgeons to join our department as members of our Trauma and Orthopaedic consultant team.

This will be a fixed term position for 18 months covering both trauma and elective orthopaedic surgery. The successful candidate will have a particular focus on hip and knee surgery.

This is a full-time post (10 PAs), with on call commitments and flexible operating PA’s where the expectation is that for each PA 42 sessions are delivered over a 52-week year. These PA’s will be picked up on an ad hoc basis from fallow theatre lists.

The post will entail a major input into the care of trauma cases within the department and the elective surgery will focus on hip surgery including hip preservation and arthroplasty.

The post-holder will agree a detailed job plan including personal and professional objectives with the Clinical Director once in post, but the job plan will involve trauma theatre, elective theatre, fracture clinic and elective outpatient sessions.


The appointee will be expected to fully contribute to the administrative, teaching and research activities within the department. All consultants represent the department on various committees within the trust as well as taking responsibility for particular delegated areas according to their interests and availability. The Clinical Director is responsible for delegating these responsibilities.


The appointee will contribute to the teaching of medical students and trainee Doctors and to participate in weekly postgraduate meetings of the Trauma & Orthopaedic Department as well as audit, governance and training meetings.

The post is in the Surgical Specialties Division, which sits within the Surgery & Cancer Board. The Divisional Clinical Director is Professor Fares Haddad. The post-holder will be accountable to Mr Sam Oussedik, clinical lead for Orthopaedics

Trauma and Orthopaedicsis delivered across the University College Hospital campus, the Grafton Way Building site and the Institute of Sports Exercise and Health.

Grafton Way Buildinghas five orthopaedic theatres and a 32 bedded elective surgical ward, with access to ITU. It functions as the Southern Elective Orthopaedic Centre, where all adult elective orthopaedic inpatients from UCH and Whittington Health are managed as part of the NCL Orthopaedic Network Southern Partnership. All Trauma patients are managed within UCH, within a dedicated ward. The Division works closely with the Institute of Sports Exercise and Health to deliver world leading Sports and Exercise Medicine services.

Find & Treat are currently recruiting a B5 radiographer.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of both the Find & Treat Mobile Health Unit Mobile X-ray Camera and the new Portable DRGo System.

You will need to be dynamic in your approach to your duties and welcoming to challenges that are somewhat unusual for a traditional radiography post.

Your regular place of work will be community based. This will either be on the Mobile Health Unit or working internally within our stakeholder venues in a designated safe space.

You will need an adaptive work ethic that is open minded and be sympathetic to vulnerable members of society. Be open to working in custodial settings for example HMP estates.

You will need to be prepared to work the occasional weekend and bank holiday and some unsocial hours.

The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Epilepsy team.

The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) has one of the largest, most comprehensive programmes in Europe for the evaluation and medical and surgical treatment of epilepsy.

Based at Queen Square in central London and Chalfont St-Peter – and also locally within Camden the epilepsy group works within UCLH NHS Foundation Trust and has close links with UCL Institute of Neurology and UCL Partners, including Great Ormond Street Hospital.
These links allow the epilepsy group to evaluate and treat the widest range of patients – ranging from individuals seeking diagnosis after their first seizure – to more complex cases, including those for whom epilepsy forms only part of a broader medical or surgical condition.

We are looking for someone who can work autonomously and as part of a strong team to provide care and support to a wide range of patients with a diagnosis of epilepsy. Care is provided through nurse led outpatient clinics, telephone clinics and ward based care. The candidate must be able to make decisions.

The successful individual will have a pivotal role in delivering Trust Objectives and ensuring that the care delivered within this specialty reflects the Trust Vision and Values.

Fundamental to the role is working closely with the Epilepsy Consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team, along with the community team. Clinical duties include running nurse-led outpatient clinics, including general epilepsy and VNS. Providing direct advice and liaison with GP’s and other allied health professionals.

The post holder will be expected to practice autonomously to undertake assessment of people with epilepsy using a range of different assessment methods, which included physical examination, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and evaluating seizure diaries.

The post holder will provide education to patients, families and healthcare professionals on epilepsy within the trust; assist in clinical trials, audits and research into epilepsy and future management, to develop and improve services for people with Epilepsy

This is a permanent contract that requires a five-day week commitment (37.5hr) without night, weekend, or bank holiday working.
