Sylvan Capital Management Pte. Ltd. is a Licensed Fund Manager under the Monetary Authority of Singapore, headquartered in Singapore. The Company manages a private equity fund that focuses on private equity growth capital/buyout investments in mid-market companies in the Asia Pacific region.
We are looking for a Private Equity Analyst to help augment our growing team. The role will engage across all functions of the firm and will have exposure to the entire deal process from origination and due diligence through deal structuring and post-investment portfolio management. We hire Analysts both right out of school and with up to 3 years of work experience.
This role is a balance between financial analysis, business strategy, and sharp execution. The ideal candidate is interested in growing businesses, has superior analytical skills, is proficient in excel financial modelling, is extremely organized and is a prolific writer who prides themselves on thoughtful and eloquent communication. Candidates who take initiative, have a tremendous work ethic and a high level of maturity are considered ideal.
Responsibilities:
● Typing, preparing, and collating reports where necessary
● Interface on a daily basis with the Managing Partners, Managing Directors and other members of the Company, as well as the Portfolio Company CEOs, CFOs and Board of Director members, providing business-related analysis and guidance
● Extensive financial modelling, including sensitivity analysis to support potential investment opportunities
● Perform rigorous data analysis and model development using conceptual and quantitative approaches
● Development of pitch books and support in fundraising processes
● Interact and build relationships with peers and, when appropriate, clients and third-party vendors
● Liaise with stakeholders and service providers from a knowledge/data/information gathering perspective to ensure that the requisite information/data is available
● Develop and help implement strategies for specific portfolio companies to increase revenue, improve operations, strengthen financial controls, and increase shareholder value
● Provide financial evaluation of potential investment opportunities including performing due diligence, liaising with external due diligence advisers/consultants
● Participate in negotiations on behalf of the firm for new investments
● Provide ongoing monitoring of assets with the firm’s portfolios including review of monthly operating results and maintaining project performance
● Travel required – approximately 10 – 15 trips per year
Requirements:
● Strong academic credentials – Bachelor’s Degree is required
● Extensive financial modelling skills and experience in Microsoft Excel
● Clear, concise writing skills and strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
● Previous transaction experience (1-2 years preferably) on either the buying or selling side
● Looking for a mature, responsible, intelligent analyst to complement the existing private equity team
● Highly analytical
● Knowledge of business growth strategy and the risk/return characteristics of private equity investment opportunities
● Previous private equity, investment banking, accounting, or consulting experience preferred Minimum previous work experience of between 3 and 5 years
● Experience and knowledge in the Eastern Europe are preferred
● Strong organisational & time management skills with the ability to perform & prioritize multiple tasks efficiently
● Multi-linguistic skill is preferred
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills
● Efficient, flexible, cautious, and able to adapt in a multi-cultural working environment
● Positive, proactive with taking initiatives, good coordination skill, and possessing tact and diplomacy
