We have a new department, within the West Norfolk Breast Care Unit.

The West Norfolk Breast Care Unit is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Mammographer to join the Breast Imaging team. Ideally we are looking for a qualified Mammographer but a training post will be considered for a qualified radiographer with suitable experience . Salary will be at Band 5 level until qualified.

We are a progressive forward thinking department who has a positive approach at meeting and delivering the current challenges of the NHS.

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and hard-working Radiographer to join our team. The main base for this role will be within the Queen Elizabeth Hospital we also have 5 screening sites across West Norfolk. You will be expected to take part in screening and symptomatic work.

There is potential for the successful applicant to progress to advanced practise in the near future.

To undertake screening and symptomatic mammograms to the standard of the National Health Service Breast Screening Programme, (NHSBSP), including those required during Interventional Breast Imaging.

To assist in the training, supervising and mentoring of Post Graduate Radiographers undertaking the Award in Mammography.

To participate in the departmental Quality Assurance Programme, ensuring compliance at all times.

This job entails working in the Breast care Unit and on the mobile unit. The mobile unit is located at one of five sites in the West Norfolk and Wisbech area.

The post holder will manage the day to day activities of the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Team. Ensuring that staff comply with IPC policies in order to reduce health care acquired infections. The postholder is responsible along with other members of the IPC team for prevention, surveillance, investigation and control of infection in Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), Kings Lynn.

This post is for a General Cross-sectional Radiologist with Subspecialist interest in Breast Radiology to compliment the department. The appropriate clinical skills and knowledge will be expected.

You will join the other radiologists sharing the provision for general on-call service out of hours and work alongside our current Breast Imaging Radiologist.

CT reporting is outsourced overnight 7 days a week (8pm-8am weekdays and 5pm-9am weekends/bank holidays). Currently our Radiology Doctors have the facility to undertake home reporting with dedicated AGFA workstations and VR dictation facilities provided for all current and future Radiologists.

The timetable of Radiologists commitments is regularly reviewed and adjusted to meet the changing needs of the Trust, service and staff. A timetable will be allocated to the appointee according to their skillset and the needs of the department.
• To undertake programmed activities in breast Imaging and general radiology. Opportunities for development of the existing service will be supported where they reflect and support the needs of the local population and the development plans of the trust.

· To contribute to the cancer two week wait service and participate in symptomatic breast one stop clinics and other relevant activity.

· To contribute to the work of the national breast Screening Service by ensuring adequate film reading numbers, participation in screening assessment and other relevant activity.

· To work closely with the breast clinicians, breast care nurses, breast pathologists and breast surgeons.

You will work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary Team supporting the design, development and implementation of maternity and Gynaecology strategies.

The Deputy Head of Midwifery and Gynaecology role is a key position reporting to the Head if Midwifery and Nursing and supporting the day to day delivery of high standards of patient care across all pathways and services within the maternity and gynaecology service.

You will be required to deputise for the Head of Midwifery and Nursing during times of annual leave and will assume responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of any delegated functions during this time.

You will support the Head of Midwifery and Nursing in the delivery of development programmes, midwifery recruitment and retention, measuring and improving standards of care and the patient experience, in accordance with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, controls and resource constraints.

You will be highly visible in all clinical areas and will demonstrate a leadership approach which is underpinned by the values of the Trust.

Support the Head of Midwifery in leading and managing a high quality, seamless midwifery service across the Trust’s acute and community settings, providing strong operational and professional leadership.

Actively support the team objectives by developing services and leading maternity projects to influence service redesign.

A formal job plan will be agreed between the successful candidate and their Clinical Director and consultant colleagues, on behalf of the Medical Director within 3 months of starting in post. A full-time job plan is based on a 10 PA working week. The job plan will be reviewed annually and is a prospective agreement that sets out the consultant's duties, responsibilities, and objectives for the coming year. It covers all aspects of a consultant’s professional practice including clinical work, teaching, research, education and managerial responsibilities. It will provide a clear schedule of commitments, both internal and external and will include personal objectives, detailing links to wider service improvements and trust strategic priorities.

For a full-time contract, the job plan will be divided on average per week (pro-rata for a part time post) as:

· 7.5 Programmed Activities (PAs) of Direct Clinical Care - includes clinical activity, clinically related activity and predictable and unpredictable emergency work.
