We are looking for a highly motivated Social Worker to join our Oxford and Swindon Adoption Team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Recruitment, assessment, training andsupport of prospective adopters at all stages of the adoption process.
• Family finding and matching of children in the care of partner local authorities with prospective adopters.

About you

We are ideally seeking a social worker with three years post qualifying experience in relevant work settings, such as within children’s Services or Family Placement, and who has excellent assessment, analytical and report writing skills.The applicant will need to demonstrate that theyunderstand the permanency planning process, the needs of children who require an adoptive placement, and that they are keen to develop their knowledge and skills further. The successful applicant also needs to be computer literate.

About Us

Oxfordshire County Council’s Preventative and Restorative Schemes Team plays a key role in the maintenance and management of our carriageway assets.The team is involved in all aspects of the maintenance cycle, from initial identification and assessment of schemes through to construction.

About the Role

In this post you will have a leading role in the delivery of preventative and restorative carriageway maintenance treatment schemes.

Working closely with colleagues across the directorate and external supply chain partners, to identify, design and deliver carriageway improvement schemes.Also liaising with commissioned design resources to ensure all works delivered are undertaken providing the most cost effective and efficient means of delivery.

Project management to ensure programmes of work are delivered to time and cost. Making decisions on the scope of works and cost as necessary and providing expenditure forecasts.

Support with continuous development and training.

You will be required to carry out site visits as necessary for developing forward programmes of work and as part of monitoring the quality of construction works.

The designated work location will be in County Hall, Oxford, although much of the work is anticipated to be able to be carried out whilst agile working, (i.e. other offices located in Oxfordshire or from home).

You will have a good understanding of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations and responsibilities for Health and Safety.

About Us
Oxfordshire Youth Justice and Exploitation Service has an exciting opportunity for a Youth and Family Practitioner to work for our friendly and supportive team under the new 'Act Now' project. Our service is a multi-agency partnership committed to preventing and reducing youth crime and exploitation in the county of Oxfordshire. About the Role
This role will specifically focus on responding to children aged 10-17 in Police custody arrested for knife/weapon related offences. The requirement is to attend the Police Station within 90 minutes of notification to get alongside the child at the earliest opportunity. The purpose of the role is to offer an assessment of strengths and concerns and deliver a short-term intervention to meet identified needs. This role is central to the team's prevention and diversion activity, to try and reduce harm through knife crime.

Role delivery will be in accordance with evidence-based effective practice with children and young people, and in the context of managing risk, well-being and public protection issues. This role is fixed-term for 12 months, working 37 hours a week. The shift pattern is 1.30pm - 10pm Monday - Friday. Please note this role includes working outside normal working hours.

About you
You will have an understanding of child development and the underlying issues that bring children into the youth justice system. You will have experience of working with vulnerable children and their families and have skills in assessing need and designing responsive, individualised support plans. You will have the ability to pick-up a case-load and work effectively in a range of professional environments, including Police custody, the community, schools and visiting children where they live.

About the role:

As a back-end Drupal developer in our development team, you will be part of a team managing the main Oxfordshire County Council website along with several smaller sites. Your role will involve:

About Us

Teaching Assistants and Communication Support Workers (CSW) are an essential part of the educational team working with children and young people who are deaf in Oxfordshire educational settings. TA/CSWs work in the Deaf and Hearing Support Resource Bases at New Marston Primary School and The Cherwell School (secondary), and with post-16 students who have a sensory impairment (deafness or vision impairment) in the Colleges of Further Education in Oxfordshire with a base at City of Oxford College.

*the terms deaf/deafness refer to all levels and types of hearing loss

About the Role

We are seeking Teaching Assistants or Communication Support Workers with a calm, encouraging and positive manner to work with deaf children and young people in the Deaf and Hearing Support Resource Bases at New Marston Primary School, Cherwell School in Oxford or City of Oxford College. No previous knowledge of working with deaf pupils is required.

The deaf pupils supported by the base have a range of communication modes and learning styles.Some speak and listen as their primary mode of communication, some use sign language together with speaking and listening, and some are British Sign Language users.

There are good public transport links and parking is also available.

The role is permanent and is term time only (39 weeks per year).

About you

You will have the ability to communicate sensitively and appropriately with children, young people, families, and colleagues.You work positively as part of a team but also feel confident to work independently and take initiative when needed.

You have a good level of basic education (e.g. Grade 4 or above in GCSE Maths and English or equivalent) or equivalent professional experience.

Working closely with specialist Teachers of Deaf Children and Young People (ToDs), mainstream staff and other professionals to improve outcomes, your aim will be to enable access to the curriculum and to facilitate full inclusion for the pupils you work with.

Ideally, you will have experience of working with children and young people with SEN or disability, but training will be given.We are particularly interested if you have a qualification in communicating with deaf people (preferably Level 2 CACDP or above, or a level of fluency in BSL at a comparable stage). If you have an interest in learning sign language, this role offers opportunities to develop these skills.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be resilient, creative, and adaptable.

No previous knowledge of working with deaf pupils is required but would be an advantage.A passion for working with children and young people to make a difference and improve their access to learning is essential.

About the Role

This role is a key component of the education service that holds strategic oversight and responsibility for admissions and home to school transport policy.An extensive part of the role will involve working closely with the County Council’s Supported Transport Service, utilising a service level agreement and ensuring eligible children have timely, safe and cost-efficient home to school transport.In school admissions there will be management and oversight of the processes that ensure Fair Access to places and services that are statutorily compliant.The postholder will liaise with multi-academy trusts, diocesan boards, governing bodies and senior leaders in schools to ensure processes work efficiently and children can access school places without delay.

Effective budget oversight will be critical, especially on home to school transport where demand and unit costs are growing significantly.

About you

You will be an experienced manager, who can work collaboratively and successfully across agencies, engaging with service user groups and families to deliver improved outcomes.You will have credibility when working with schools and partners and established ability to quickly develop and maintain positive working relationships with external colleagues and across the organisation at all levels, including elected members.

You will have the ability to undertake and manage complex and diverse nature tasks applying which necessitates knowledge and skills at an advanced level from specialist disciplines such as education, law, finance, management and procedural matters.

Also you will have a detailed understanding of the legislative framework for both admissions and home to school transport and quickly establish yourself as the Council’s subject matter expert for these areas.
