MAIN ACTIVITIES AND TASKS

• Provisioning of level 2 advice to Wildcat squadrons, LWPT, 1710 NAS and Engineering Management on Wildcat HUMs aircraft health, transmission vibration monitoring, aircraft vibration and RTB diagnostic matters and associated VA equipment in accordance with MAM-P.
• Reporting of any potential vibration issues to engineering management highlighted through 2nd level or 3rd level data analysis IAW MAM-P and AP101C-1500-2(NA)1 SPS 004.
• Employing or supervising the use of specialist vibration collection and analysis techniques in accordance with CIETP Chap 18
• The maintenance and control of Wildcat aircraft vibration histories IAW MAM-P Chap 5.4 and 5.5 and AP101C-1500-2(NA)1 SPS 004 for:

MCC Engineer Tasks and Accountabilities

• MCC are the focal point at the heart of the operation, empowered to make decisions and with clear escalation pathways to ensure continued operations.
• You will report serviceability states of the forward fleet on a company and customer level by means of distributed status reports.
• You will drumbeat the recovery of AOG aircraft at MOB and Deployed
• You will liaise with other AIOC team members to ensure that aircraft are quickly and effectively recovered.
• These include Logistics, Fleet Tasking and Availability Management and Short Term Planning.
• The Minimum Operational & Safety Equipment List (MOSEL) and Acceptable Deferred Faults (ADF’s) shall be logged and continuously monitored to ensure any Calendar/Hours/Cycles limitations are not exceeded, and that any operational restrictions are notified to FTAM.
• You will maintain communication with the Pt.145 Line Supervisors WRT serviceability states and readiness levels at Main Operating Base (MOB)
• You will monitor the co-ordination and progress of aircraft, man power, spares and facilities for tasks accomplished by the Part 145 maintenance organisations and the scheduled accomplishment of all routine maintenance tasks, including the requirement for specialist facilities or working parties, providing escalation pathways as issues are identified.
• In the event of a significant change to the available fleet or AOG situation, the MCC Engineer shall immediately inform the HOAIOC, DEOC, RAF DExO, FTAM and liaise with the Part 145 maintenance organisation to assist with the recovery of the aircraft by means of conference calls or ‘Tiger Team’ meetings.
• In the event of a major incident, you shall enact the Business Continuity Plan and the RAF Crash and Disaster Plan until relieved by a senior responsible person.
• The MCC Engineer shall also liaise with external resources and or Spares/Tooling as may be necessary to achieve a fast, safe and economic recovery and return of the aircraft to service RAF Stakeholders (DExO, DEOC) shall be informed of any delays, change of tasking details WRT airframe swaps or cancellations at the earliest convenience by call and email.
• You will provide out of hours cover with regards to raising in service event reports (ISER’s), notices to crew, Fleet Tasking prioritisation, receiving Technical Queries and requesting AMTAC technical assistance for Work Stop or AOG situations.
• You are approved to raise, register and manage applications for Concessions rectification, interval extension and aircraft cannibalisation.
• The designated MCC Engineer shall provide deployed operational status information via the Daily Ops Brief and the Daily Escalation Brief The MOC Engineer shall provide Daily Operational Priorities for Team Atlas.
• On completion of each shift the out-going MCC Engineers shall verbally brief the in-coming shift with any pertinent events on going, recently resolved and/or imminent problems which may have an impact on the operational fleet task lines.
• Providing Senior Leadership Team (SLT) stakeholders with required KPI data as and when required.
• Maintaining competence levels in line with continued development activities of the organisation and evolution of the aircraft

Skills & Experience

• Ideally hold either an EASA PT.66 engineers’ licence or be able to demonstrate relevant experience and competence Knowledge of SFAR-88, EWIS and Human Factors.

Key Responsibilities

• Initially working with Section teams planning and producing sketches and methodologies for relavent plans and procedures for mobilising.

Experience required for the role:

Programming and operation of CNC multi axis turning centres.

Experience of one or more of the following CNC controls - Siemens and or Mazak.

Ability to work to fine tolerances (imperial & metric measurements) and use appropriate measuring equipment (verniers, micrometers).

Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.

You may see yourself working on ships, submarines or within a factory environment.

Essential experience of the Welder:

• You will need the ability to read engineering drawings, to interpret work instructions and be competent in the use of general workshop tools & machinery specific to welding.
• Ideally you will have worked in the marine engineering industry with experience of Royal Navy ships and submarines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels or large commercial ships - although other relevant experience from other engineering sectors will be considered.
• Experience of working within marine engineering environment
• Competent within some or all of the following – FCAW, MMA, MIG, TIG
• Be able to undertake regular welding requalification to meet required standards

Qualifications for the Welder:

• Time served apprentice within the field of marine engineering / naval engineering environment
• Indentured Apprenticeship relevant to the role

You will need to demonstrate a sound understanding of surface preparation standards and have relevant experience in a wide variety of coating application techniques.

Role requirements

Prepare bare substrates and existing coatings, demonstrating the knowledge of a systematic approach.
Demonstrate a good understanding of the quality standards associated to surface preparation.
Be prepared to provide technical guidance to other employees in relation to techniques and procedures within their competence.
Demonstrate a good understanding of the requirements contained within paint Manufacturer’s Technical and Safety Data Sheets
Competent in applying coating materials associated to a marine environment by brush, roller, conventional spray, and airless spray.
Undertake and maintain husbandry of working areas and protection of equipment
Instate Damage Control markings on raised tallies
Previous experience working in a marine environment
Knowledge of submarines and warships desirable
Willingness to undertake development training as identified in a competency framework
Ability to read and understand an MoD BR
Airless spraying experience and sign writing experience desirable
Sound understanding of Health & Safety / COSHH
Qualifications and training

NVQ level 3 Industrial / Marine / painting / Decorating
Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a marine, industrial or commercial environment
NVQ Level 2 Industrial / Marine / Painting / Decorating with the appetite to undertake additional training.

There may be a requirement to be to work shift work and overtime to support the business needs.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in roofing and be adept at working on slate and tiled roofs. Responsibilities include the repair and replacement of soffits and fascias. The role demands the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and the physical capability to traverse various site conditions. While a full driving licence is advantageous, it is not essential.
