About the Role:
Enhar has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Renewable Energy Engineer with expertise in renewable engineering and solar project development. This multifaceted role involves overseeing the design, development, and implementation of renewable energy systems, managing technical aspects of electronic components in solar power and BESS projects, and supporting solar and battery project development, including concept design, land agreements and development approvals for large-scale renewable and storage projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Renewable Energy System Design and Development:
? Develop and optimise renewable energy systems, including solar, wind, and BESS.
? Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments for renewable energy projects.
? Create detailed engineering designs, plans, and specifications for solar-powered systems.
Electronic Engineering and Project Management:
? Provide strategic technical advice for electronic and electrical systems in solar and BESS projects.
? Develop cost-effective technical solutions to complex project issues.
? Perform detailed design work for solar projects.
? Conduct energy yield assessments, performance modelling, and system optimisation.
? Support the Project Director to identify project risks and issues, propose mitigation measures, and act as required.
? Participate in new business development by contributing to proposals/quotations and project cost estimation.
? Lead process improvements to ensure a high-quality approach to technical specifications, concept designs, and project delivery.
Solar and BESS Project Development:
? Support the concept engineering design process to input to development approvals and grid studies
? Assist in securing land agreements and development approvals for 5-10 projects annually, totaling over 500MW.
? Support the preparation and lodgment of development approval applications.
? Engage with stakeholders, including landowners and planning department staff, to facilitate project approvals.
? Ensure compliance with planning permit regulations and approvals processes in NSW, SA, VIC, and QLD.
? Develop strategies to expedite project development timelines and enhance project quality.
Qualifications:
? Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
? At least 5+ years of relevant experience in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on renewable energy engineering and solar and battery project development.
? An understanding of planning permit regulations and approvals processes in NSW, SA, VIC, and QLD.
? Native-level English speaking, writing, and reading skills.
? Valid Australian driving license
? Experience in consultancy companies and industry developer companies.
? Proficient with software tools for project management, such as Procor and MS Project.
Preferred Qualifications:
? Located in VIC or NSW; candidates from SA or QLD will also be considered.
? Experience in land acquisition negotiation and consulting with local government, universities, and water utility organisations.
? A proven track record in land acquisition negotiations and development approvals is a plus.
? Wind project technical experience including turbine layout design, resource analysis.
? Member of professional associations related to planning and environmental assessment.
? Good working understanding of solar farms and BESS projects’ technology and components.
? Experience in securing building permits relevant to solar/BESS projects.
Geographic Location:
? Victoria, Australia: Hybrid home and office work from our North Fitzroy office.
? Australia outside VIC: Primarily work from home with quarterly meetings in the Melbourne office.
