Core responsibilities:
Project Management
· To assist Project Manager in the execution of a project effectively and to identify and mitigates any potential risk on site timely.
· To liaise with Architect/ Consultants in all aspects of construction matters during the site progression phase
· To ensure quality delivery of the project by meeting of Client’s expectation and satisfying relevant authority and regulatory compliances
· To oversees the project team and sub-contractors in delivery of project in accordance to approved contract completion date/ stipulated phases
· To plan for short-term/ phasing work schedule(s) as per contract duration/ timing
· To plan and co-ordinate sub-contractors’ trades’ work, to resolve work issues with sub-contractors on site and monitoring of site progression
· To implements project’s target set in alignment to company’s objective/ goals
Project Budget Control
· Control of material usage/ wastages on site.
· Control of the usage of machineries/ equipment / utilities on site.
· Control of direct labour costs in labour allocation and working of overtime & etc.
· Ensure the construction method is cost effective & more productive without compromising on Quality.
· To map out Projected S-Curve for project financial cash flow.
Technical Understanding
· Understanding of drawings, specification requirements and contract scope of works.
· Understands the implications of different technical choices so as to meet the Project Manager’s objectives.
· Involve in providing value engineering solutions.
· Assist in evaluation and solution of potential field problems, referring them to PM.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
Leadership
· Ability in leading of Project Team to achieve excellence in the project.
· To assist the Project Manager to manage changes within the project team effectively.
Teamwork
· To reinforce the team including sub-contractors cohesively on internal initiatives.
· Supports and solicits input from team members at all levels within the organization.
Client Management
· Communicates effectively with consultants to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions (Quality).
· Ensures practice delivers superior solutions (Quality) towards the project.
OTHERS RESPONSIBILITIES (ORGANIZATION)
People Development
· Participates in all programs and enforces all policies relating to performance evaluations and career development planning.
· Reviews management evaluations for consistency.
· Impresses upon management the importance of the performance evaluation programs.
· Manages the development of subordinates.
· Assigns tasks to practice management that give subordinates an opportunity to grow.
Job Specification
Minimum Educational Qualifications/ Experience Required:
Degree in Civil / Structural/ Building Engineering – Min 6 years experience
Diploma in Civil/ Building – Min 8 years experience
Special requirements: (eg. Need to work at odd hours, must have BCSS, WHSO certified by MOM etc)
- Degree recognized by PEB, preferred
- Able to work independently and plan/ coordinate work on site
- Leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
- Certification for safety course(s)
