The Business Risk team

The role

As a Business Risk manager, you will be a key important member of the team, committed to support the management team in developing and growing the business risk services practice, and help to build and maintain relationships with clients and play a key role in the successful delivery of services to our clients. You will be responsible for organising and overseeing the various types of projects including internal audits, risk management and regulatory compliance projects and manage a team of senior and junior consultants. In addition, you will be supporting the growth of the department through some business development work. This role offers a great variety of work, autonomy, client contact and Partners’ direct interaction and coaching to the seniors and junior staff.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform risk assessments on key business activities and determine the scope of review, in conjunction with the clients’ senior management
• Plan the engagement/ audit approach and prepare the work program and oversee the delivery of the engagement/ audit from planning to completion, including performance of review of the team members’ work
• Actively participate in issues discussion with client key stakeholders and seek to understand the broader impact of the issues/gaps identified in the engagements/ audit reviews
• Prepare the draft and final written reports covering the audit findings (control issues/gaps) and propose corrective action plans including obtaining agreed actions plans from management

Qualifications and requirements

• Recognized Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or other related field
• At least 5 – 7 years of relevant professional experience gained in internal audit, or risk/compliance in commercial or in a big public accounting firm
• Professional qualification (CPA, CA, CIA) is highly preferred
• Demonstrated good industry knowledge in financial services/banking, oil and gas, and others

Responsibilities

As an Associate within the CFO Advisory team, your role will include:

Financial Statement Preparation and Bookkeeping

· Assist in preparing financial statements, including consolidated reports, ensuring compliance with IFRS and Singapore GAAP standards.

• Experience in Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm is advantageous.
• Strong technical accounting skills with proficiency in SFRS and SSA, as well as IFRS and ISA.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a reliable, mature and experienced administrative assistant to support our Forensic Advisory and Business Risk Services teams.

Responsibilities involve:

1. Client onboarding assistance

• Support client on-boarding requirements such as performing independence and conflict checks, client due diligence and acceptance checks, and creating engagement codes
• Accurately maintain and manage clients and opportunities list

1. Document preparation and management

• Assistance in formatting letters, presentation slides and/or deliverables
• Preparing and drafting invoices and the accompanying breakdowns
• Printing, filing and archival of physical and electronic documents

1. Schedule and expense management

• Support in the teams’ resource management such as managing resource schedules and training records for team members
• Assistance in logistical arrangements and coordination for meetings, events and/or webinars including booking of transport, and event venues as required
• Manage and coordinate appointments and meetings for Partners, assess priority of appointments, best time zones for international meetings, and reallocation as necessary (i.e., accurate diary management for Partners). Where required, ensure that incoming correspondence is handled by Partner/or on behalf of the Partner, as necessary.
• Assistance in completing weekly timesheets for the Partners, processing expense claims, monitoring, and chasing submissions of time sheets for the remaining team members

1. Travel arrangements

• Coordinate and book travel arrangements for Partners, executives and team members in alignment with the company’s policies
• Research on travel and visa requirements, etc.
• Prepare travel itineraries for trips, including multi-leg, track and record all travel costs, as needed or requested

1. General administrative support

• Managing Partners’ calendars and rendering support to Partners and teams
• Assistance in logistical and administration matters for new joiners in team (i.e. timesheet submissions, ordering of business cards, etc.)
• Coordinate supplies/ gifts/ flowers for occasions, where appropriate
• Other relevant duties as assigned

Qualifications and requirements:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
• At least 2 years of administration/secretarial working experience
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills
• Attention to detail, and a high level of precision
• Ability to work under pressure and with deadlines
• Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent inter-personal skills

The Tax team supports organisations at every stage of the lifecycle – from structuring business tax effectively and managing any employment tax issues to transactional tax obligations and compliance. The team helps businesses develop strategies that help businesses understand and manage tax liabilities and risk in a transparent and ethical way.

The friendly and supportive tax team works collaboratively across various four main specialties – corporate tax, goods, and services tax (GST), transfer pricing, and employer solutions and private clients. The team openly communicates at all levels, giving the support and guidance to develop as individuals and use their voice to shape the future of the team.

Responsibilities

• Manage/support portfolio of clients for corporate tax compliance services
• Manage and build client relationships
• Support clients on IRAS enquiries and audits
• Assist with corporate tax advisory and consulting assignments
• Assist with marketing and business development initiatives, and
• Support and coach associates and interns
• Involved with other broader tax matters

Qualifications and requirements

• Any recognised bachelor’s degree in any discipline or equivalent qualification in accounting
• At least 2 years of relevant tax working experience
• Attained / attaining accreditation from the Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals (SCTP) would be an added advantage
• Able to work with complex and detailed information, organised
• Attention to details and ability to manage multiple engagements at the same time
• Familiar with Microsoft Office
• Highly motivated with the ability to work both independently and as a team player
• Skilled in writing, interpersonal communication skills in building rapport and collaborating effectively with other team members

Qualifications and requirements:

• Preferably possess any recognised degree in any discipline or equivalent qualification in accounting and/or relevant Professional Qualification
• At least 3 years of relevant corporate tax working experience
• Attained / Attaining Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals (SCTP) Level 2 Corporate Tax accreditation would be an added advantage
• Leading a team and have strong understanding of corporate tax issues
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a commitment to understand client requirements
• Good writing and communication skills with good knowledge on Microsoft office
