An exciting opportunity has arisen to join award-winning Derbyshire Catering Service.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Catering professional to lead our kitchen team at Aldercar High.

As Catering Supervisor you will be responsible for the day to day management of the kitchen including preparation, cooking, service and performing clerical duties via a digital management system. Our customers health and safety is our priority and all staff are required to follow food hygiene and health & safety regulations. We want to help make good lunchtime memories for our customers so it is essential that you can demonstrate an attitude which is appropriate to the school environment.

Applicants must be able to work in partnership with parents and other professionals and have the skills in communicating with children and young people in residential care, as well as working as part of a team. This will involve a combination of day, evening, night, weekend and bank holiday working.
Working as part of a small staff team who provide support and a person-centred service to children and young people, they are responsible for the holistic care and safety needs of the children.

Rewarding Opportunity for a Dedicated Senior Occupational Therapy Practitioner

Derbyshire County Council has recently restructured its services, bringing Occupational Therapy to the forefront of reablement initiatives and enhancing our core functions with a centralised service delivery model led by an Occupational Therapy management team.

As part of our commitment to delivering outstanding professional leadership, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Occupational Therapy Practitioner to join our friendly team in Amber Valley, Erewash, and South Derbyshire. ‍⚕️

Qualifications and Experience

Our ideal candidate will have:

A BSc in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent qualification
Extensive experience as a practising Senior Occupational Therapist ‍⚕️
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills ️
Resilience and the ability to thrive under pressure, adapting to the demands of the role
About the Role

In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in fostering the professional development of our teams and ensuring the effective delivery of core Occupational Therapy services. Your focus will be on enabling individuals with long-term needs to live safely and independently at home taking a strength based approach and utilising support that may include advice, information, signposting, equipment, and minor and major housing adaptations. ✨

Working alongside the Occupational Therapy Service Manager and another Senior Practitioner in your area, you will uphold high standards of professional practice. You’ll manage a small, complex caseload while contributing to new service developments and ensuring our teams have the skills and training required to provide an excellent service.

As a Senior Practitioner, you’ll provide clinical supervision, promote reflective practice, and ensure adherence to professional standards set by The Royal College of Occupational Therapists and the Health and Care Professions Council. Additionally, you’ll mentor and coach colleagues, particularly newly qualified Occupational Therapists and Apprentices, and play a crucial role in nurturing future talent by supporting Occupational Therapy students.

This role also emphasises time-limited, strength-based interventions to achieve the best outcomes for Derbyshire residents. You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues in the short-term reablement service, providing professional oversight where there are no registered Occupational Therapy Service Managers or Senior Practitioners.

Dementia Care:

Community Support Beds and Beyond:

At Thomas Fields CCC, we go beyond traditional care models by offering community support beds that serve as a crucial transition for those ready to leave the hospital but not quite ready to return home independently. Leading and managing this dynamic element of care, you will be responsible for the safe, daily admission and discharge of individuals, with continuous professional networking with our allied health and social care professionals. As a Unit Manager, you will relish the unique challenges and opportunities of overseeing this diverse care offer, working collaboratively with the privately managed Extra Care Unit that completes the community care centre.

The job may require unsocial hours working including weekends and Bank Holidays. Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer made.

Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at plain time where it is part of your normal working pattern unless it is between 7pm and 7am, where enhanced rates of pay apply. Enhanced pay rates are paid for Bank Holiday working.
