Summary:

Performs a variety of duties revolving around medical management of patients in the inpatient setting. Tasks may include (but are not limited to) admission of patients into the inpatient setting, ordering and interpretation of diagnostic lab work and imaging, ordering/prescribing medical therapies appropriate to patient's clinical needs, arraigning discharge from the inpatient setting.

The hospitalist service is staffed with multiple APPs on a daily basis and this job requires the ability to function in a team environment.

This position includes a base salary and geographic differential. The total combined salary range for the Advanced Practice Provider I (Grade 28) is $114,578 - $138,780 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

The total combined salary range for the Advanced Practice Provider II (Grade 30) is $125,970 - $151,933 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

Nurse Practitioner Educational Path:
1. License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York; and
2. Current New York State Nurse Practitioner certification; and
3. Certification or eligibility for certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or other national certifying body recognized by Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA); and
4. Master’s or higher-level degree in Nursing.
NOTE:
As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or other national certifying body recognized by Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) within nine (9) months of their appointment to this title as required by Medicare.

Physician Assistant Educational Path:
1. License to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of New York; and
2. Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission for Certification of Physicians Assistants (NCCPA) or other national certifying body recognized by the New York State Education Department; and
3. Bachelor’s or higher-level degree in Physician Assistant Studies; or

Summary:

Assists a licensed pharmacist, as directed, in compounding, preparing, packaging, labeling, and dispensing of both hazardous and non-hazardous pharmaceuticals to fill valid prescriptions or medication orders. Performs essential functions related to pharmaceutical compounding, medication distribution, quality assurance and compliance, and medication inventory management, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and complies with all federal and New York State laws, rules, and regulations as promulgated by the New York State Board of Pharmacy. Responsible for all duties related to the Pharmacy Technician II and Pharmacy Assistants.

Provides evaluation, treatment, and management of acute and chronic phases of illness in patients at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center; management includes assessment of physical symptoms, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, and prescribing medications. Provides continued care throughout the patient's medical journey. Educates and mentors Advanced Practice Provider I and additional clinical staff including, nursing, residents, fellows, and other healthcare interns and students.

The Wound and Ostomy Nurse Practitioner will provide care in the ambulatory and inpatient settings for patients requiring ostomy surgery.  Assessment and medical, psycho-social, and educational interventions will be provided to patients pre and post operatively, including supporting the patient with troubleshooting and complex ostomy care.  The individual will develop an ostomy program and evaluate data to improve patient care and quality of life.  The individual will also assess and intervene with recommendations for individuals at risk of and with pressure injuries, other wounds, and complex tubes/drains.  As part of onboarding the individual will complete an approved course in wound and ostomy care and obtain certification as a CWOCN-AP from the WOCNCB.

The total combined salary range for the Advanced Practice Provider II is $125,970 - $151,933 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

The opportunity:

The Chief Pharmacy Officer (CPO) and Senior Executive Director serves as an integral member of the executive leadership team who strategically plans, organizes and directs the full range of clinical, administrative and distributive pharmaceutical services to all locations operated or contracted to the organization.

Further, the CPO provides leadership for all pharmacy programs including patient care services (inpatient and outpatient drug distribution, drug information, clinical consultative services), research, academic training and business affairs of the Department of Pharmacy. In addition, the CPO provides leadership and establishes productive relationships with Senior Leadership, medical staff, and department heads to optimize all aspects of medication management and formulary management across the enterprise.

The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the pharmaceutical care at the organization is safe and consistent with existing regulations of The Joint Commission, New York State codes, rules and regulations for hospitals, existing Federal Law and current findings for acceptable pharmacy practices.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

License Requirement
License to practice as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of New York or eligible through reciprocity.

Education and Experience
1) Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree and six (6) years of leadership experience as a Director of Pharmacy, Associate Director of Pharmacy or Assistant Director of Pharmacy in a large community or university teaching hospital or healthcare system; or
2) Master's degree in Business Administration or HealthCare Administration and six (6) years of leadership experience as a Director of Pharmacy, Associate Director of Pharmacy or Assistant Director of Pharmacy in a large community or university teaching hospital or healthcare system

Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
