The role as Agricultural Technician will require you to be flexible in your approach to your daily tasks as we are largely governed by the weather. Responsibilities and Duties
1. Duties will include spraying, spreading, seeding, harvesting and general farm duties that go with broadacre cropping.

3. Providing technical support to farmers and other agricultural professionals in their fields
4. Performing soil tests to determine nutrient levels and pH levels in order to help farmers make informed decisions about which fertilizers to use on their crops
5. Conducting research on agricultural topics such as plant genetics, soil composition, and pest control methods
6. You will be required to operate our main farming equipment, including but not limited to:
• Claas Lexion 770 harvesters
• John Deere 8295R and 9510RT tractors and chaser bins/Seed Hawk 80-12 Seeder Bars

7. Machinery maintenance and general fabricating is also required along with thorough pre-season preventative maintenance.
During our busy periods of the year such as summer spraying, seeding and harvesting there will be a requirement for long hours and working at unsociable times (weekend and night times).

What is involved in the job?

As an Incubation Technician based at our state-of-the-art hatchery in Goulburn, you will support the Senior Incubation Technician and the Incubation Supervisor to develop and implement effective incubation practices for poultry breeding.

This will involve technical support, data collection, and assisting in controlled breeding experiments to optimize embryonic development and hatch rates in alignment with Aviagen breeder standards. Specifically, once developed through to competence, the incumbent will:

Forecast flock hatches, adjust incubation plans to meet customer orders, and monitor facility equipment.
Understand, collate, and record data on incubation and sets, including hatch windows, temperatures, co2 levels, 10-day candling, hatch breakouts, and egg hygiene.
Identify and address issues in preparation, incubation, and hatch outcomes to ensure continuous improvement in production.
Responding to hatchery alarms to ensure incubation concerns are addressed in a timely manner.

You'll receive hands-on training and access to Aviagen's global incubation support network, helping you develop the expertise you need to succeed.
