In this position as a Technical Accountant, you will be working alongside with a team and report into a Manager. You will be required to support the administration of reinsurance accounts and contracts, from establishing and maintaining contractual data, processing the insurance and/or reinsurance account bookings, claims handling and managing the related cash flow. This role also supports the underwriters in administrative activities related to the underwriting process.

The ideal incumbent is expected to clarify discrepancies of accounts and claims with internal & external stakeholders and following standard procedures under guidance. You will be involved in managing of cash flow including setting-up of client bank accounts in the accounting system, processing of outgoing/incoming payments and follow up on pending payments and open balances. You will ensure the compliance with sanctions and embargoes by scanning respective lists and forward to Underwriter/Legal for further investigation if needed.

Your new role
As Interim Systems Accountant, you will support the Financial Controller with implementing, integrating and improving the business system, Microsoft Dynamics. This will include business partners with finance and other department leads on any collective or individual issues. You will support the optimisation of D365 financial processes and systems, ensuring seamless integration and functionality including migration and cleansing of current financial data. Team Introduction

The tax system team in Tiktok helps various tax functions on tax automation and process optimization. We aim to work with the Tax Product R&D team to design and develop tax automation solutions to compile, process and deliver data in a more efficient manner, streamline the cross-functional tax process to ensure accuracy and compliance, and provide more visibility to the decision makers through data pooling and analytics.

Responsibilities

1. Acting as the APAC region contact point of the tax system team and responsible for undertaking system requirements feasibility analysis, drafting system requirement reports according to the needs and pain points of the respective tax teams in this region, assisting in building up international tax management framework for Bytedance group.

2. Closely coordinate with various system teams and stakeholders to help roll the tax system design, development, implementation and optimization progress smoothly.

Qualifications

1. Ensure the year-end balance is accurately transferred into the new IFS system.

Determines if the case requires restricted interest computations, net rate, expedite handling or other specialized procedures.

Analyzes data consistent with the applicable tax laws and regulations to resolve and process all types of difficult and complex issues/problems including the most complex restricted interest and problem resolution for Appeals and Counsel cases. Determines restricted interest rates, limitations, periods covered, allowances, overassessments, and potential overassessments. Calculates restricted interest for cases where taxes, penalties, and interest are due which result from application of one or more sections of law. Cases involve complex computations such as tax, penalty and interest, multi-year restricted interest, offsets from joint accounts to individual prior liabilities, net rate and adjustments to previous assessments.

Applies the relevant sections of the Internal Revenue Code and Regulations to determine adjustments and assess the impact and conditions such as net operating loss, carrybacks/carryovers, unused or related investment tax credits, net rate and accumulated earnings tax. Determines and computes the proper assessable and allowable interest considering the affected tax periods and varying interest rates.
