FUNCTION: ROC College
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Curriculum Manager
ACCOUNTABLE FOR: Supporting and mentoring individuals within ROC College
HOURS: 37.5 hours per week, 40 weeks per year (term-time plus two weeks)
SALARY: £26,397 per annum (£23,591 pro rata) / £13.50 per hour

United Response is a registered charity, founded in 1973, whose mission is to ensure that individuals with learning disabilities, mental or physical support needs have the opportunity to live their lives to the full. We support around 2000 people in over 300 locations across England and Wale, and employ over 3,600 staff.
ROC College, a part of United Response, is a specialist college that provides person-centered, community-based teaching and learning within Cornwall, Devon and Somerset. We work with young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
What We’re Looking For
United Response is keen to hear from applicants with experience of supporting individuals with a learning disability in accordance with their needs, in a teaching and learning environment. You will be a good communicator, adaptable and confident in assisting with the planning of daily activities and lessons. You should be patient, empathetic, supportive and have a positive, enthusiastic attitude towards teaching and learning. Applicants should have a Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) or equivalent.
What to Expect
You will be working as part of the ROC College team to plan and deliver personalised learning to students between the ages of 16 and 25 with Special Education Needs and Disabilities, mainly on a 1-1 basis and on occasion teaching small groups. You will guide Learning Mentors within their roles of lesson delivery, and collaborate with the Curriculum Manager for your area, providing ongoing feedback on students’ progress.
