Edinburgh Justice Services are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join the Crossroads Team as a Senior Social Worker. Crossroads provides a trauma focused service to men in Justice, offering a range of interventions with a recovery focus.

Accountable to the Team Leader, the post holder will: ensure a high quality of practice is provided and maintained to meet service users’ needs within the Council’s statutory obligation policies and procedures; provide professional support, supervision and leadership to a group of staff, whilst maintaining a direct involvement in social work practice; represent and promote the Council at multi-agency meetings, with local community groups and be a department representative at a range of information sharing and risk planning forums.

Edinburgh Justice Services are committed to providing high quality services while ensuring a compassionate approach to people accessing our services and supporting staff wellbeing. We offer a high level of training to support continuous professional development and to deliver a broad range of interventions, including established, accredited, group work programmes. We are implementing Trauma Informed Practice, Safe & Together™ and Restorative Justice practice models and interventions across our services, and are establishing a Women’s Centre, in partnership with NHS Lothian, to reduce barriers and meet the needs of women involved in the justice system.

Craigroyston Community High School is a non-denominational secondary community school serving a catchment area in the northwest of Edinburgh. Communication Support Workers will provide bespoke communication support to deaf children/young people, some with complex additional support needs, throughout their time in educational establishments. This may include interpreting/translating information in British Sign Language (BSL) and/or other agreed communication methods e.g. English, Sign-Supported English, lip speaking and scribing/note taking as necessary, using Augmentative and Alternative Communication ( communication devices, systems, strategies and tools that replace or support spoken language) as part of an inclusive communication approach.

Postholders will assist teaching and support staff in schools to ensure that deaf pupils allocated to them can access the curriculum fully and achieve the best possible learning outcomes. They will support pupils by advising school staff on adapting learning materials to make them more easily understandable, using a range of equipment and ICT where appropriate. They will take a lead role in facilitating communication with peers and the wider school community, promoting deaf awareness.

These posts require the postholder to work in a range of settings across the city including: Nursery, Primary, Secondary and Special schools and as such applicants must be willing to work anywhere in the city as required.

Applicants should hold Level 3/ SCQF level 6 in British Sign Language or be able to demonstrate equivalent skills/experience. A BSL skills test will form part of the interview process.

Hours: 37 hours per week, Mon-Fri (Standard office hours: 0900-1700 on a shift rotation)

Job Purpose:

To manage all customer enquiries, ensuring service levels are met in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).



Key Responsibilities:

Manage Incoming Customer Enquiries:


Resolve all customer enquiries, focusing on "right first time" resolution.

Provide relevant advice and make referrals to third parties when needed.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of energy efficiency measures available.

Meet individual performance targets and provide excellent customer service.


Handle Exceptions to Customer Journey:


Identify and resolve delays or issues in the customer journey.

Build relationships with local third parties and liaise with subcontractors to smooth customer journeys, especially in cases of delays to installations.

Provide face-to-face support for customers with communication challenges when required.

Suggest improvements to service delivery and the overall customer experience.


Support Complaints & Appeals:


Handle customer complaints and appeals, ensuring compliance with SLAs.
Act as a key contact for complaints assigned by the Customer Manager or Senior Customer Service Officer.
