• Prepares, maintains, and reviews for accuracy all property inventory listings.
• Processes property disposal and accounting transactions using automated systems.
• Serves as primary visitor control point of contact to screen all vehicles and personnel entering the facilities.
• Composes and types routine, non-technical correspondence and/or one-time reports.
• Compiles management data, statistics, information and flow charts.

• At the GS-09 grade level, the duties are developmental in nature leading to the full performance level of GS-1170-11. The duties are described at the GS-11 level.
• You will acquire property or space, or provide guidance to other agencies, or state and local governments on such matters as the acquisition of property or space; and relocation of property and business owners.
• Exercise eminent domain procedures; difficult negotiations; and/or unfamiliar state or local governments.
• Manage Federally controlled property.
• Lease space to non-Federal entities and manage such leases.
• Authorize the use of Federal land to individuals or organizations for commercial, recreational or various other purposes after ascertaining that the proposed use is compatible with, or furthers, the Corps’ civil works mission.
• Work with project and installations managers to determine the best method by which to achieve the maximum value for non-Federal use of Corps’ managed properties.
• Manage natural resources located on civil works projects and military installations, including forestry, sand and gravel, and agricultural land.
• Develop plans to extract natural resources via appropriate out-grant, when compatible with project purpose or military mission.
• Dispose of Federally owned property that may involve numerous environmental concerns limited or unstable markets, etc.

• Provides assistance to DOD, Federal Agencies and authorized donor customers in screening and selecting property for reutilization.
• Performs a variety of property disposal, control and advisory activities such as advising on the destruction, demilitarization (Demil) or abandonment of property; recognizes Demil property and its applicable requirements.
• Ensures that the contractor completes all work on the task order. Notifies the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) if performance is not proceeding satisfactorily or if problems are anticipated and recommends remedial action
• Ensures sales/referrals are in accordance with good merchandising practices and regulatory requirements
• Resolves a variety of conventional problems and situations in carrying out all phases of the disposal of excess and surplus government property.
• Is responsible for accountable records, adjustments, inventory corrections, and monitors the record status of inventory
• Ensures proper handling, storage and accountability of excess or surplus property to prevent damage, loss, or personal injury
• Assists in the coordination, training and other aspects of the property disposal function

• This position serves as a Land Surveyor in the Division of Lands and Minerals at the Utah State Office.
• Performs work that involves establishing, investigating, and reestablishing land and property boundaries for descriptions of tracts of land.
• Uses professional knowledge of the concepts, principles, and techniques of surveying including underlying mathematics and physical science, in combination with knowledge of land ownership laws.
• Plans, directs, documents, and guides highly complex boundary investigations, surveys, and resurveys of the Public Land Survey System (PLSS) in accordance with the Public Land Laws and the Manual of Surveying Instructions.
• Prepares draft Special Instructions for survey requests of Federal agencies after accurately researching, collecting, documenting, and interpreting the administrative and historical records.
• Prepares professional legal reports for the permanent survey group file record, documenting circumstances that support unusual survey decisions.
• Prepares field notes of surveys in final form and plats of surveys in near final form from the field returns.
• Designs data collection projects and collects accurate geodetic data to verify accuracy and reliability of existing surveys and/or to provide more precise positions for the Geographic Data Coordinate Data Base (GCDB).
• Assures the methods and procedures for incorporating GPS technology into the performance of cadastral surveys are consistent throughout the State and compatible with existing databases.
• Researches and prepares responses to both internal and external inquiries pertaining to cadastral surveys or the official survey records and land ownership.

Role Purpose

The Estates Strategy Team is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic surveyor to join us in managing and developing our diverse land and property estate. Reporting to the Estates Strategy Manager you will be responsible for advising on all aspects of estate and asset management including supporting the estate rationalisation programme and developing a fit for future estate. A Career Pathway may be considered from applicants who do not meet the essential criteria but who have some rural or commercial estates management experience. A part time role may be considered for the right candidate.

Essential

Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or other equivalent professional qualification or substantial relevant experience.

Typical day as a Maintenance Surveyor

• Carrying out pre and post inspections of repairs on both responsive and void properties, managing a patch covering the Harrow area. Ensuring high-quality work and that our customers are happy with the outcome.


• Providing technical advice and support to our trades, maintenance managers, sub-contractors and suppliers so we deliver a high-quality, cost-effective and compliant service.


• Contract management including progress against building works schedules. Utilising customer insight to support us in delivering on our customer promise.


• Managing any disrepair cases and helping customers combat damp and mould issues in their homes.


• Accurately measuring materials to enable a ‘right first time’ approach.


• Ensuring void re-servicing is carried out to a high standard, enabling re-let as soon as possible.

You have

• Building surveying experience including property condition and dilapidation surveys and specifying remedial works.


• Hold a Building Surveying qualification HND, HNC or Degree Level.


• Ideally hold RICS, CIOB professional registration or working towards this.


• Current knowledge of building repairs, construction as well as CDM roles and responsibility.


• Able to manage, control budgets and expenditure.


• A vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage!


• A self-starter approach, able to work unsupervised to manage your own patch, working commercially to deliver our programmes of work on time and to budget.
