About the role
Working across the city, the Neighbourhood Ranger is a member of the Environmental Services team who helps to deliver a seamless and efficient service, whilst being responsible for ensuring that the organisation’s standards are met.
The Neighbourhood Ranger undertakes a wide range of duties including caretaking and cleaning services, grounds maintenance, property clearance, and securing empty homes. Liaising with residents, neighbourhood housing staff, and other members of the organisation will also be required. The Neighbourhood Ranger is responsible for ensuring that our neighbourhoods are safe for customers and that the organisation complies with health and safety best practice and legislation.
Our ideal candidate for this role is someone who:
Has experience of caretaking and/or cleaning duties and/or grounds maintenance services.
Has experience of completing minor communal repairs involving basic carpentry, painting and masonry skills.
Has an understanding of Health and Safety at Work.
Holds or will achieve the following within 12 months of appointment: Cleaning Professionals’ Skills Suite; award in the use of ride on and pedestrian mowers (LANTRA); award in bushcutter/strimmer operation (LANTRA); award in hand held hedge trimmer operation (LANTRA).
Has a proven ability to work independently within a team and work flexible hours to meet the needs of the service.
Has excellent organisational skills with a focus on attention to detail.
Is able to work on own initiative, prioritising own workload to meet targets and deadlines.
Is committed to providing great customer care.
