What will I do in this position if hired?
In this position, you will serve as Management and Program Analyst. Typical assignments include:
- Analyzing and evaluating data (raw, structured, unstructured) to identify opportunities to make improvements, identify correlations, patterns or trends that support data driven decision making; AND
- Utilizing a variety of software and/or web-based client server methods (Ex: Microsoft Power Platform, Excel, Databases, Tableau, Python, R, ArcGIS, etc.) or other analytical tools to build tools, visualize data, and conduct other analysis in support of the FEMA mission; AND
- Appling a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to assess and improve FEMA R9 program effectiveness, business process and workflows, projects, and data management systems; AND
- Working with business lines, both top-down and bottom-up, to identify patterns and relationships across a variety of data sets and communicate the technical data assessment to non-technical individuals, communicate and work with individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner; AND
- Communicating the results of analysis in a variety of ways including oral briefings, written reports, and data visualizations.

Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
