The Role

The Bennett Science Department is an exciting and dynamic context in which to work. Science has a central place in our curriculum, alongside Mathematics and English, at all stages and for all students. This commitment is realised in a number of ways. Science is taught to all students in Years 7 to 9. Our teaching support team is pivotal to our success in the classroom and provides a great deal of support for our teachers, and this position for an HLTA will strengthen the English team even further with their knowledge, experience and additional support that they can provide our teaching staff with. To be considered for the role, you will need to meet the following requirements;

Educated to at least Level 2 Maths and English, but ideally educated to A-Level or Degree Level
Previous experience of working with children/young people, with a real interest in working with this age range

Good ICT skills and practice

This is a permanent opportunity offering an actual salary £23,006 per annum (£26,079 full-time equivalent) based on 37 hours per week, Term Time + 2 weeks of inset. Working hours of this role will be Monday to Thursday, 8.00am - 4.00pm and Friday 8.00am - 3.30pm with a 30 minute break each day.

We are a large inclusive primary school and require a skilled and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support autistic children in our Specialist Resource Provision (SRP). This is a fantastic opportunity to join a talented and positive team in our purpose-built learning environment to provide support for autistic children in our SRP with all aspects of their education. The SRP Teaching Assistant will work under the direction and guidance of the SRP Lead Teacher and the SRP HLTA and will need a wide range of skills to support our SRP children's needs. The successful candidate will also have a genuine desire to ensure the children they support reach their full potential and have a safe, welcoming and positive learning experience.

The role is for 30 hours per week (6 hours each day, 8.45am to 3.15pm, Monday to Friday), 38 weeks per year (term time only). The pay scale is Kent Range 3 at £23,337 per annum for a full-time position which equates to approximately £15,999 per annum pro rata for this role, plus a SEN allowance of £1441.72 per annum pro rata (total annual salary for this role is therefore £17,329).

A formal 30 minute interview will take place with a panel comprising of members of the Leadership Team. Candidates will also undertake a 25 minute English and Maths test.

What does this role involve?

As a Sales Assistant you’ll be at the very heart of our retail operation. This is not just a standing behind the till or filling shelves type of role, we’re looking for someone who will deliver a first class customer service experience. Every day is different in charity retail, as well as working on the till or sorting donations, you can expect to:

As a Keyholder, you’ll be the go-to person when there isn’t a manager on duty, keeping the store running and ensuring our customers have a great experience. You’ll need to be 18+ years old to apply for this role.
