Selected Staff Psychologist will be assigned to the Mental Health BHIP Team. The selected Staff Psychologist will report clinically and administratively to the assigned supervisory psychologist, and reports to the Chief of Psychology for discipline-specific issues. Some of the duties include, but are not limited to;
GS-11
- Serves actively on Healthcare System, VISN, and/or National VA committees, workgroups, or task forces.
- Represents psychology on decision-making committees at the Healthcare System or VISN.
- Actively participates in leadership roles on local, state and national professional organizations.
- Represents the Healthcare System at professional/program community group/events and committees.
- Ability to diagnose mental disorders, conduct psychological assessments, and to treat mental disorders through a variety of modalities, and provide adjunctive interventions for treatment of medical disorders.
- Is responsible for timely completion of all clinical charting and documentation required by the Healthcare System, as appropriate.
- Practice is under the close supervision of a licensed psychologist.
GS-12 - Provides a full range of psycho-diagnostic services including assessment and using the most appropriate psychotherapeutic techniques in providing quality care.
- Conducts psychological assessments utilizing objective measures and prepares testing reports
- Performs evaluations for all classes of veterans seeking mental health treatment.
- Provides a full range of therapeutic interventions including evidence-based treatments for PTSD and other mental disorders.
- Is responsible for timely completion of all clinical charting and documentation required by the Healthcare System, as appropriate.
- Provides clinical supervision to various disciplines and levels of training in accordance with Healthcare System and American Psychological Association standards.
- Provides leadership guidance and consultation to staffs of units to which assigned.
GS-13 - Provides a full range of psycho-diagnostic services including assessment and using the most appropriate psychotherapeutic techniques in providing quality care.
- Performs diagnostic evaluations for Veterans with a full range of mental disorders.
- Conducts psychological testing and assessments utilizing objective measures, clinical interviews, records reviews, and consultation with other treating providers as needed; and prepares testing reports.
- Provides a full range of therapeutic interventions, including evidence-based treatments for PTSD and other mental disorders.
- Is responsible for timely completion of all clinical charting and documentation required by the Healthcare System, as appropriate.
- Staff psychologists may be involved in program evaluation and/or research activities.
- Provides clinical supervision to various disciplines and levels of training in accordance with Healthcare System and American Psychological Association standards.
- Involved in Psychology Training Program and Training Committee.
- Provides leadership guidance and consultation to staffs of units to which assigned.
Work Schedule: The primary tour of duty will be M-F 8am to 4:30pm. However, the selectee may be required to work or travel between any of the locations within Corporate Orlando, including the Lake Nona campus. The selectee may also be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis, based on patient care needs.
