The successful candidate will perform the full range of Senior Budget Analyst .
Such duties include but are not limited to:
1. Serves as a Senior Budget Analyst providing guidance, leadership, and ensuring the overall
integration of the NRC office and programmatic resources for budget formulation per fiscal year
using a collaborative approach. For any current or upcoming budget fiscal years, leads, evaluates,
reviews, coordinates, monitors and as otherwise assigned, advises the Chief Financial Officer, the
Deputy Chief Financial Officer, the Budget Director, the Deputy Budget Director, and the Branch
Chief, on significant financial, program, or policy issues affecting the effectiveness and
efficiency of the development of the NRC Performance Budget.
2. Serves as the OCFO liaison with assigned program offices and/or business lines; OEDO staff,
Commission staff, the regional offices, 0MB and other government agencies on matters related to
budget formulation. Briefs management on the results of these discussions. Provides technical
expertise in developing and updating the agency's framework and procedures for the annual NRG
Planning Budgeting and Performance Management process (PBPM). Performs critically complex analysis
of agency budgets to support agency resource allocation decisions. Provides technically
authoritative analyses, summarization and justification regarding the basis of conclusions and the
agency-impact of recommendations. Provides authoritative budget expertise, guidance and support to
non-senior staff on performing short-term and long-term analysis of agency budgets to support
agency resource allocation decisions. Utilizes automated systems to access, update, and analyze
data.
3. Maintains a depth of knowledge and information associated with NRC programs and activities.
Provides reviews and advice on workload priorities and changes. Reviews resources in draft Commission Papers
and other office memoranda and reports, monitors technical and programmatic problem areas, assesses
the overall impact on the budget process, and briefs management on these matters as required.
Provides technically authoritative responses to Commission Papers, executive SRMs, SSG papers and
Agreements. Provide guidance and support to non-senior staff responding to Commission Papers and
executive SRMs. Perform ad hoc projects as assigned by branch or division management. Represent the
division or office as a member of committees and working groups. Participates in planning,
strategy, peer review, and problem-solving sessions. Acts as Chief, when requested.
