JOB SUMMARY

Provide a summary of the job’s primary function: The Department of Bioengineering is seeking a driven, dynamic professional to become an Administrative and Project Assistant. This person will serve as the primary point of contact for all essential matters pertaining to the Department Chair, and act as a liaison between the Chair and the College of Engineering’s executive team, department leadership team, external partners, and other stakeholders. The position is responsible for developing effective systems for managing the Chair’s administrative needs and for providing planning and oversight to ensure their time is utilized effectively to advance the priorities of the department and College. This person will also coordinate administrative tasks for the department, such as catering requests, room bookings, coordinate faculty meetings and write minutes, assist in department purchases, assist in academic support in regards to scheduling classes and support general projects. The Administrative and Project Assistant must be able to communicate professionally and effectively on behalf of the Chair both orally and in writing. They will also be responsible for managing relations and communications with key constituents to gather and summarize important information to be presented to the Chair. In addition, they will perform a wide variety of organizational support including drafting correspondence, preparing creative and dynamic presentations, events management, and other high visibility projects across the Chairs portfolio.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associate’s Degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of 2- 4years of progressively responsible administrative experience with an appreciation for a fast-paced environment. an executive setting strongly preferred, Applicant must be self-motivated and can anticipate problems and demonstrate significant independent judgment. Individual must have strong organizational, communication (both oral and written), and interpersonal skills—all with a high level of attention to detail. The Special Assistant must possess the ability to skillfully complete projects under tight deadlines. Must be able to work with confidential information and prioritize tasks and demands. Must be able to work and make decisions independently, to exercise discretion and good judgment in areas of responsibility. Strong Microsoft suite experience (i.e. PowerPoint, Excel, etc) required.

Responsibilities:

This full-time faculty member is expected to bring intellectual and creative capacity to bear in advancement of the program, seeking to serve students by participating in a range of teaching and non-teaching activities that support the advancement of the program. This faculty will teach a full teaching load spread throughout the year and will work with the program office on administrative issues and programmatic projects.

Teaching and actual course load may vary with other responsibilities, which include, but are not limited to:

Teaching & Curricular Oversight (approximately 80% of time)

• Engage in curriculum development, program assessment, and the integration of emerging HR trends and practices into the academic offerings.
• Mentor and advise students, guiding them in their academic and professional development.

• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with industry partners, staying current on the latest HR trends and best practices.

Scholarship and Service to the University (approximately 20% of time) ·

• Participate in program and faculty committee meetings as applicable.
• Serve on committees that support the mission of the program and the vision of the College and wider University.
• Produce scholarly research that leads to publications in peer-reviewed journals and actively participate in professional activities. Travel
• In addition to supporting the campus, occasional travel may be required to the University’s global network of campuses.
• Examples of required travel include the annual CPS Graduation and Faculty Conference.

Qualifications:

Terminal degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) Management, Psychology or a closely related field to Human Resources Management.

Evidence demonstrating a history of scholarly work and professional practice, including but not limited to, a track record of publications in reputable academic journals that have undergone peer review processes.

Substantial industry experience in or related to Human Resources Management, preferably at a senior or executive level, with a demonstrated ability to translate practical experience into the classroom.

Experience with industry partnerships, consulting, or collaborations.

The Music, Imaging, and Neural Dynamics Lab (web.northeastern.edu/mindlab) at Northeastern University, Boston, MA, is looking to hire a full-time benefits-eligible research assistant to help with ongoing research projects. The research assistant will be responsible for designing and administering research protocols, recruiting and scheduling participants, collecting and analyzing behavioral and neuroimaging data, and writing and presenting scientific research. BMC's Surgical Step Down unit is a 38-bed unit providing care for intermediate level surgical patients. The patient population consists of post-operative and surgical specialty patients, including trauma, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, transplant patients and cardiothoracic surgery.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a CNA in our Critical Care department, you will be a key member of the healthcare team at BMC. Under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse (RN) and in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of practice, our CNAs provide direct clinical and support services. Using our patient-centered care model and uplifted by a supportive nursing organization, you will participate in the delivery of care to our patients and their families. You will also work cooperatively with all healthcare team members to provide a variety of support services to meet patient, family, and staff needs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform a variety of appropriately delegated patient care interventions for patients in the Critical Care department and their families.

• Clinical services could include, but are not limited to: obtaining vital signs, bathing and feeding, dressing wounds, assisting with hygiene, cleaning rooms and linens, and emotional support.

• Perform a variety of environmental and inventory activities to ensure a safe, clean, and appropriately equipped environment for patients, visitors, and staff in the Critical Care dept.

• Contribute to the efficient operation of the Critical Care dept, ensuring quality patient/family clinical outcomes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• A high school diploma or GED certificate

• Certification in basic life support (BLS), including CPR certification (must be current or obtained within 30 days of employment)

• Ability to pass clinical competency testing

• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities

• Basic math and computer proficiency

• One of the following:

  One year of previous experience as a CNA in an acute hospital setting

  Currently enrolled in a nursing program and have completed two cycles of clinical rotation

  Completed an approved certified nursing assistant training

  Completed an approved certified medical assistant training

  One year of previous experience as an EMT or field medic (considered for adult ED positions only)

• Fluency in another language a plus

• Previous medical/surgical experience preferred

Working under the supervision of the Boiler Shift Supervisor, the Assistant Auxiliary Operator monitors the operation of the facility fuel system.
 
Responsibilities include:

• Monitor fuel distribution system.

• Monitor fire protection system including assisting in fire prevention and extinguishment of incipient fires.

• Performs lock-out tag-out (LOTO) on various systems as required.

• Boiler outage duties:  pressure washing, unplug hoppers and conveyors, internal boiler cleaning, tipping valve tune ups and repairs and expansion joint repairs and replacement.

• Drag chain shaft and flight deragging.

• Performs maintenance on equipment and assists maintenance during outages.

• General housekeeping.

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Technical training preferred.

• Massachusetts 2nd Fireman’s License preferred.

• Valid State Driver’s License.

Monitor patients newly diagnosed with dementia as they begin medication. Communicate to the MDT/qualified practitioner the patients tolerance of medications to enable decisions in regard to titration. Provide ongoing monitoring of said medications, following NICE guidance. Communicating any changes in presentation and risk to the MDT/qualified practitioner to ensure that appropriate decisions can be made in regard to their treatment plan. Engage in use of digital technology to contact patients and carers to undertake reviews where appropriate Work alongside Community Psychiatric Nurse/Social Worker/Occupational Therapist to plan, deliver and evaluate the approved individual and group psychosocial interventions. Act as a key worker and case manager to service users accepted into the service and identified to be of low to moderate complexity under the supervision of a Registered Professional. Provide support and advice and liaise/engage with partnership agencies, multi-disciplinary teams and the wider community where appropriate. Contribute positively to the achievement of service targets and outcomes. Use techniques derived from one or more therapeutic models to engage and optimise service user treatment outcomes and to support their long-term care plan. When indicated refer or signpost on to a range of other specialist and third sector services Work closely with, support and provide information to service user families/carers, and wider community services that support the service-user care-pathway. Carry out relevant risk assessments and risk management with the multi-disciplinary team Engage calmly and with sensitivity and empathy to support service users in highly distressing or emotional circumstances.
