Your role

As a Host you will become part of an exceptional restaurant team that will provide an extensive food and drinks service across our 10th floor restaurant. You'll be our guests' all important first and last point of contact, meeting them on arrival and escorting them to their tables, on hand to deal with their queries, provide information, and oversee table plans. Your role

Reporting to the Purchasing & Back of House Manager, you will work closely with our F&B and Operational teams to provide a full end to end Purchasing and Procurement service across the hotel. You will support the full running of our purchasing department, and will be largely responsible for overseeing daily F&B orders through Birchstreet (our purchasing system) from fresh produce deliveries through to beverage orders; operating supplies and equipment to stationary.

With 6 F&B outlets [served by 2 kitchens], 266 bedrooms and event spaces The Standard, London is a very busy and complex operation that requires exceptional coordination of daily deliveries and requisitions; not to mention the management of our cellar and stores areas. You will be responsible for maintaining purchasing procedures and work closely with the back of house and kitchen teams to ensure that quality controls are in place and accurate; and support the monthly stocktakes and general management of the hotel's inventory with our F&B Controller, Stores Supervisor and Beverage Director.

You will also provide specialist support in the procurement of ad-hoc items, or new product lines to ensure that the best prices are negotiated with suppliers, contracts and TOBs are reviewed and relationships are maintained to manage costs across the business.

The Standard sets the bar high this spring with the return of ‘The Rooftop', an openair rooftop bar and terraces stretching over its 11th floor, turning its views of the London skyline into the perfect backdrop for rooftop cocktails, bubbles on tap, and Asian inspired snacks from our street food cart!

This seasonal addition to the hotel reopens to guests and visitors at the beginning of April and throughout the summer months. The front terrace facing St Pancras commands impressive views over the station looking north and West and will be open daily (weather permitting) with a private area for hotel guest to have drinks, light food & enjoy the views. A second terrace faces south and east towards the City with panoramic views of the London skyline and can also be hired out for private events.

Your role

Your Role

As our Night Manager, you will supervise a small overnight team who engage and look after our guests from late evening, throughout the night until breakfast the next morning.

Based on the front desk; you will be in charge of delegating tasks to the team ensuring that we provide our guests with unparalleled level of hospitality, from a seamless arrival and departure experience, to extensive reception services, assisting them with their queries and unexpressed wishes.

In order to provide an exceptional service to our guests, you will be reporting into our Front of House Manager and liaise with our Guest Experience and Duty Managers ensuring that overnight complaints are handled effectively, glitches logged and the appropriate service recovery is actioned. You'll also have a meticulous eye for detail and work in partnership with the Housekeeping to oversee all accommodation services on the day, making sure room allocations, VIPs and guest arrivals are handled seamlessly. You'll also be responsible for preparing a number of hotel reports for the next day, undertake the hotel night audit and credit checks for inhouse guests bills.

As a natural team leader, you remain calm during challenging situations whether it involves guest complaints, emergency situations, maintenance issues or something completely left field (No two nights) are ever the same and you will need to flexible to adapt to changing situations whenever they arise!

As our Security & Safety Manager you work alongside and deputise for our Security Director to ensure the safety and security of all guest, personnel and property. Working as part of a larger security team you will demonstrate a flexible and adaptive hands-on approach in order to lead, guide and continuously train a team of Duty Security Officers & our Nightlife Security Officers to ensure that all of our front and back of house areas across the hotel and our venues are safeguarded against fire, theft or other safety hazards.

You respond with a sense of urgency to any and all emergency situations in a calm and professional manor. Your team will undertake a range of security patrols around the premises and be required to deal with various safety incidents involving guests, contractors or staff and act as liaisons with local law-enforcement, food safety and fire department agencies. Our nightlife security team provide door coverage across our 6 venues, including our bars and restaurants, rootop and late night club lounge, so experience of managing a busy late night venue is a must.

A key element of your role is Health & Safety, so you will need to be well versed in all relevant fire, liscening and Health & safety legislation. Within the HR Office you will be a first point of contact for our employees, dealing with general enquiries and questions. You will also oversee various employee engagement events such as our summer and winter parties and get involved in other monthly social activities across the hotel.

Within the Finance team you will support a range of accounting duties which may include; overseeing transactions and payments relating to our accounts' payable ledger, income audit, logging invoices and cashiering. You will also undertake a number of duties to support month end.
