The Ocular Epidemiology Research Group at Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI) aims to develop and facilitate collaborative and translational research by integrating big data, omics, and machine learning analytics into large scale population-based studies. The strategic goal of our group is to improve the eye health of populations in Singapore and globally, and to become the international, leading centre for population science and digital health of eye diseases by

Responsibilities
The Executive is a key role within our organization's research department, responsible for supporting and managing various administrative aspects of research projects. This position requires a good understanding of research processes, grant management and compliance regulations. The Executive is expected to take initiative in improving and ensuring smooth, efficient operation of research activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Budget and Financial Management: Work closely with research team to manage research project budgets, including tracking expenses, monitoring spending, providing financial reports and preparation of purchase requisitions. Coordinate with finance, procurement and others departments to ensure accurate financial management of research projects.
Research Support: Assist department with administrative tasks, such organizing meetings / events, collation of data, preparation of forms, managing assets and databases. Provide guidance on research best practices, funding opportunities and resources available to researchers.
Grant Management: Assist in managing the entire lifecycle of research grants, including proposal development, budgeting, submission, and post-award administration. Collaborate with researchers and funding agencies to ensure compliance with grant requirements and reporting guidelines.
Research Compliance: Stay up to date with relevant research regulations and policies to ensure adherence to ethical standards, data protection laws, and institutional guidelines. Provide guidance and support to researchers regarding compliance issues and assist in obtaining necessary approvals.
Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective collaboration between researchers, faculty members, funding agencies, and other stakeholders. Serve as a liaison between the research department and internal departments, ensuring clear communication channels and efficient information flow.
Research Reporting and Documentation: Collect, analyze, and synthesize data related to research projects, prepare progress reports, and assist with the preparation of research publications, presentations, and documentation for regulatory submissions.
Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as business administration, accounting, finance or a related discipline).
· 1 – 2 years of work experience/ proven experience in research administration or project management within a research environment is desirable.
· Good knowledge of research funding processes, grant management, and compliance regulations.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
· Exceptional attention to details.
· Proficient in using research administration systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with researchers, administrators, and stakeholders.
· Knowledge of research ethics, data protection, and intellectual property rights is advantageous.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
