To support in programme development and evidence-informed group work/workshops for identified beneficiaries (e.g children, parents, educators) and work systemically with the child’s ecosystem, so as to support the holistic development of the child. Conduct rigorous assessment and provide basic psychosocial, behavioural interventions to children in need. To support and promote children’s wellbeing through supporting our Tinkle Friend Services, which includes the helpline and chatline, developing resources to support children’s mental well-being through various channels. The purpose is to ensure that child’s mental well-being is supported so that they can be resilient and grow up strong and healthy.
- To co-develop, design, plan, facilitate, monitor, evaluate and review services to addres children’s related concerns (i.e bullying, protective behaviours, resilience, anger management etc)
- To support in building children’s mental wellness (e.g building resilience, supporting them toregulate their emotions, equipping them with protective behaviours, building their pro-social skills) and other emerging needs (e.g bullying) through programme development and facilitating groupwork and workshops for children.
- Implement individual and group intervention plans and monitor progress
- Review effectiveness of intervention for children, caregiver and/or parents
- Maintain up to date case documentation
- To work collaboratively with child’s support networks-parents, educators and community partners to address the needs
- Conduct risk assessment, safety planning and implement safety plans as appropriate.
- To support identified children-in-risk through casework & counselling
- Broker with agencies and make service referrals, when required
- Work closely with Research Department to develop/refine evaluation tools for group work interventions
- To support and grow our pool of volunteers to be advocates and ambassadors in promoting children’s well-being
- To support in the Tinkle Friend helpline and chatline to provide support to ensure children’s safety and promote well-being.
Key Requirements:
- Degree in social work or in related discipline or Post graduate diploma in social work
- At least 3 years of experience working with children (7-12 years old) and parents in counselling, casework, programme development or group work.
- Experience working with volunteers
- Programme development
- Case work and counselling skills
- Strong group work facilitation skills
- Good written and oral communication
- Trained in SSSG
- Trauma-informed
- Able to provide psychological first aid
- Possess knowledge of the social service and school landscape/resources
- Ability to do basic research and evaluation
- Able to conduct environmental scans and assess community needs
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player
- Strong engagement skills with various stakeholders.
- Able to work independently and in a team
- Experienced in creative engagements for social service programmes
- High levels of initiative
Other Requirements:
- Keen interest to work with children and the other systems in the child’s life (e.g. parents, educators, case workers, volunteers, etc)
- An insightful and reflective team player
- High levels of initiative, adaptability and responsibility.
- Proficient in Microsoft, Canva or other design softwares
- Strong administrative skills
- High levels of initiative, adaptability and willingness to grow professionally with the organization
- Be willing to work till 7pm minimally once a week
