We are a boutique nursing home looking for a compassionate staff nurse who has a passion for caring for the elderly.

As we are a small nursing home, you have lots of opportunities to become our senior level key personnel in a much shorter time than if you work in a large organisation. You will also be able to gain a broader range of experience in a friendly environment.

Some of the tasks involved daily medication dispensing, ensuring a clean and safe environment supervising junior healthcare assistants to do a good job, ensuring elderly daily activities of living is smoothly operated etc.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Nursing
• relevant working experience in a nursing home will be an added advantage.
• Must be a Registered Nurse with valid practicing license issued by Singapore Nursing Board
• Valid certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)

• Conduct initial clinical assessment of new client.
• Perform regular assessments of client needs through the development, update and evaluation of client nursing care plan.
• Diagnosing the disease by analyzing client’s symptoms and taking required actions for his/her recovery
• Update the nursing progress notes for the client when they attend the centre based care.
• Responsible for the safe, accurate administration of medication and treatments provide to the clients, while maintaining complete and accurate applicable documentation.
• Coordinate with physician and other healthcare professional for creating and evaluating customize care plans.
• Ensure all nursing care carried out complies with the nursing standards set by the Ministry of Health
• Protects clients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and procedure.
• Provide training and supervision to the team of care staff.
• Plan and coordinate the assignments of care staff according to their job scopeand competencies based on client’s care needs.
• Manage a team of care staff and monitor their performances and development.
• Maintain a hygienic and safe working environment
• Maintain nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies
• Perform such other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

▪ Perform general housekeeping to maintain cleanliness of the wards, bed, lockers.

▪ Assist in conducting daily exercises for the residents and interactive activities for Dementia care.

▪ Assist in organizing visits for residents to go for medical checkups; arrange transport and accompany residents.

▪ Alerts nurses to emergency situations where necessary take first responder actions to

· 6 days a week ( 0700-1530hrs & 1300 – 2130 hrs) & Able to perform 2 rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays. Off in lieu will be rostered.

Role

You will provide support to the Senior Staff Nurse and Nurse Manager / Assistant / Director of Nursing in the delivery of nursing care to the residents and help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for them. You play a key role in providing residents with overall supervision and according to the requirements of Singapore Nursing board and home care standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assess residents within 24 hours of admission.

• Develop Resident Focus Care plan and carry out care plan and identify problems.

Craft out plan of care for new and existing residents.

• Ensure accurate and proper documentation of nursing records including Medication records are maintained according to Standard Operating Procedures of Charis Manor and Singapore Nursing Board Guidelines.

• Assist in orientation of new staff and induction checklists.

• Participate in Infection control protocols.

• Participate in Nursing Quality Assurance or Work Improvement processes.

• Keep abreast in new nursing / medical development and trends; contribute to new ideas and creative suggestions.

• Supervise equipment and material resource inventory.

• Assist in the preparation of reports and statistics as required.

• Supervise and ensure safe and competent care of residents is provided.

• Ensure sufficient medication stock is available.

• Participate in emergencies, where necessary to mitigate care.

• Continued supervision of junior staff reporting for work tasks.

• Update doctor, dietitian, pharmacists and physiotherapist by following rounds and changes initiated and complied into focus care plan.

• Registered as Singapore Registered Nurse with Singapore Nursing Board

• Preferably 2 to 3 years clinical nursing experience

▪ Current CPR / AED certificate

Qualifications

· Registered as Singapore Registered Nurse with Singapore Nursing Board

· Preferably 1 to 2 clinical nursing experience

· Possess CPR / AED certificate.

· Supervisory skills are advantageous

· Gerontology / Palliative care experience will be advantageous.

· Possess positive work and learning attitude with good interpersonal skills.

Salary Range: $3100 - $3300 neg depends on experience
