We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Carmarthenshire to assist with the appointment of a Refuse/ Recycling Loader, on a 2-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £12.18 - £14.62 per Hour

Responsibilities:

Collect recycling or refuse from the kerbside or other agreed collection point and load into vehicle in accordance with operational plans, procedures and codes of practice
Operate any fitted power mechanism including automated loading/compaction equipment in accordance with service procedures and vehicle requirements and to assist the driver in operational activities on the round and at tipping locations to reduce and control the potential risks to Health & Safety.
Be responsible for supporting the driver to manoeuvre the vehicle safely around the streets and carry out reversing assistant, traffic control and signalling (banks person) duties in accordance with safe working procedures
Undertake a visual inspection of sacks and containers to ensure that prohibited/contaminated waste is not collected and that recyclable waste is deposited in the appropriate vehicle compartment to avoid cross contamination.
Ensure that any debris or spilt refuse from damaged sacks is cleared up immediately, and where heavy littering has occurred, report to the Refuse/Recycling Driver.
Qualifications:

Willingness to comply with ongoing job related training requirements, new information and instructions
Experience of power mechanism operation/ operating various plant and machinery
Ability to understand, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions

This role requires a basic DBS

Responsibilities:

Emptying and sorting of refuse containers
Collecting illicit tipping
Litter picking where required
Taking rubbish to the amenity site at the end of the rounds
Drive a vehicle, reporting all defects and ensuring that the road traffic act is adhered to at all times
Qualifications:

Knowledge of Safe Systems of work
Customer service skills
Previous experience of working with waste
Good Communication skills
