Major duties include but not limited to:

• Duties include transportation, decontamination, sterile preparation, and storage of Dental Instrumentation following all guidelines.
• Training conducted at Hampton VAMC SPS.
• Responsible for sterile preparation which is accomplished through inspection, assembly, packaging, and terminal sterilization of all trays, sets, and packs for use throughout the facility.
• Assemblies range from simple sets of four or five instruments to very complex sets of up to ninety instruments such as Total joint sets, femoral vascular, radical nephrectomy, abdominal vascular, chest sets, thoracic, orthopedic implant sets, carotid vascular, general surgery sets, etc.
• Assembles delicate micro-surgical sets such as micro-surgical ear set. ENT plastic set for procedures requiring plastic surgery, micro-surgical eye instruments, and other surgical specialties. These sets contain stainless steel instruments, titanium staples, screws, plates, and other prostheses which require expert care and careful attention.
• The incumbent assembles and selects the correct sterilizing method for a variety of costly and delicate equipment such as flexible resectoscopes and other flexible and rigid endoscopes.
• Tests instruments for functionality and assembles instruments in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines.
• Selects appropriate methods for sterilizing, balancing time constraints with possible detrimental effects of quicker methods.
• Independently prepares the full range of trays and sets necessary to be used in the wards, clinic areas, dental clinic and surgery.
• Updates trays and count sheets as needed.
• Considers surgery schedules and Clinic schedules along with considering time factors for processing order to determine how many items to stock based on the turnaround time for processing, preparation and frequency of use.
• Utilize computers to perform record keeping, tracking operations. Processes emergent requests, prepares tray lists, and updates files as required.
• Conducts inventory of all sterilized trays checking package integrity and expiration dates.

• Serve as a Supervisory Aircraft Pilot for the United States Aviation Support Facility (ASF).

The primary purpose of this position is: To perform aircraft structural maintenance and support equipment repair for tasks associated with the planning, laying out, fabricating, modifying, repairing, assembling, corrosion control, specialized coatings, advanced composites, tubing, and installing sheet metal parts, items, and assemblies and to provide training to reservists in the accomplishment of tasks herein.

• IAW technical data and standards: Plans and lays out work from engineering data, blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, and work orders in the repair, coating or manufacture of aircraft structural components and support equipment; Develops patterns, molds, cuts, forms, joins, assembles, and installs items and systems which have combined straight and curved edges or irregular curves, angles, and planes.
• Operates, cleans, maintains and accounts for all hand, power tools and equipment, such as slip roll forming machines, box and pan brakes, beading and tubing machines to fabricate and repair items.
• Inspects, prepares aircraft and support equipment surfaces and applies a variety of chemical compounds, protective and specialized coatings to a variety of materials, such as sheet metal, radomes and composites then correctly disposes of hazardous waste products.
• Repairs, modifies, and manufactures fiberglass, bonded honeycomb, and composite/metal structural components that have contours that must be reestablished or that require the manufacture of a mold using the available part or pattern.
• Prepares effective training plans to maximize Reserve training. Utilizes safety practices, Federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and AF Environmental Compliance Assessment Management Program (ECAMP) environmental protection practices and procedures and complies with security regulations, directives and policies.

Performs multiple, varying, and complex assignments under the minimal direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. May act as a contributing specialist on large work activities or as a project manager or team leader for large projects/programs/activities.

Serves as a subject matter expert on airspace issues and will be responsible for conducting and coordinating aeronautical studies for proposed construction projects including activation/deactivation and alteration of landing areas to determine potential effects on air navigation.

Utilizes computer programs to accomplish tasks, such as: Obstruction Evaluation/Airport Airspace Analysis (OE/AAA), and Airports Geographical Information System (GIS), as well as Airport Layout Plans (ALP’s), 5010 records, and other information to process and analyze airspace cases to promote the safe and efficient use of navigable airspace.

Interacts with, coordinates and provide technical assistance to the Regional staff, and other internal Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) organizations and the public.

Under the minimal direction of a Manager, the Regional Airspace Specialist conducts initial screening of airspace cases submitted via FAA Forms 7460 and 7480. Works directly with the proponent to resolve inaccurate and incomplete information. Enters the cases into OE/AAA system. Coordinates the cases internally and externally as needed. Follows up with all active cases to ensure timely processing. Prepares and issues Airspace Determinations. Maintains and updates Regional Staff Assignments within OE/AAA System as needed.

Provides guidance, support, and training on Airspace processing and review to less experienced professionals. Provides technical assistance related to the Airports GIS program to include FAA Airports GIS standards and eALP tool development. Reviews Airports GIS scopes of work for various types of aeronautical surveys and airport data collection.

The primary purpose of this position is to direct the development, coordination, and implementation of procedural changes; to direct the performance of management analysis and compliance for the activities under the jurisdiction of the Logistics Readiness Squadron Commander; direct the squadron readiness and training programs, and to direct resource management and systems management in support of unit mission. • The primary purpose of this position is to test, troubleshoot, repair and modify aircraft fuel distribution systems, repair leaks of external/integrated tanks, and provide training to reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth therein.
• Conducts scheduled periodic maintenance inspections on all hydraulically operated systems on aircraft. Troubleshoots all hydraulic systems on both local and transient aircraft.
• Disassembles pneudraulic systems by removing covers, poppets, springs, camseals, pistons, valves and valve seats. Utilizes safety practices and procedures and complies with security regulations, directives, and policies.
• Ensures tools are properly marked, calibrated (if necessary), and are secured when area is unattended. Certifies work produced under the USAF Technical Order Program.
