About the job
Salary: £30,825 - £33,945 a year
Hours per week: 37
Contract type: Permanent
Are you ready to make a difference in the smooth and efficient operation of our Fleet Transport section? In this role, you’ll be key to ensuring our fleet vehicles meet high-quality road safety standards and conducting M.O.T tests, pre test inspections and occasionally vehicle services and minor repairs on our own vehicles.
You'll conduct statutory fleet and public annual MOTs, hackney carriage, and private hire vehicle inspections, all while following the M.O.T guidelines set by the Department for Transport, Luton Borough Council, and ISO 9002 quality systems.
We operate a dedicated and independent MOT testing station. We do not offer repairs - we simply offer a straightforward, impartial inspection service that has no gimmicks and absolutely no sales pitch!
Please note this role does not attract sponsorship.
About you
We're looking for someone with hands-on experience in a busy vehicle workshop. You should be detail-oriented and methodical, with a knack for understanding and following procedures and regulations.
Being a great communicator is a must, as you'll interact with a variety of people, explaining technical information in a clear and friendly manner. We require either and existing M.O.T tester or previously qualified M.O.T tester (not disqualified) a vocational qualification in motor vehicle maintenance and repair (like the City and Guilds Automotive Qualification, NVQ level 3) and a full, current driving license. You must also have had at least 4 years’ full-time employment servicing and repairing the types of vehicles you’re going to test.
If you're passionate about vehicle maintenance and want to be part of a dedicated team, we’d love to hear from you!
