Maintenance Caretaker

We are looking for a Maintenance Caretaker to join our Facilities team which comprises of 29 members all spread across different sites. The team ensures that the delivery and management of internal and external services adhere to agreed standards, current legislation and health and safety regulations. As a Maintenance Caretaker you will be responsible for completing maintenance and cleaning tasks at four offices on one complex in Worcester and, one archive store also in Worcester. Support at other offices will also be required on occasions.
The role of Maintenance Caretaker will include:
- Carrying out cleaning and various minor repairs such as plumbing, door closures, changing lamps, painting areas and office furniture repairs.
- Inspecting the buildings, including heating, cooling, lighting, and alarm systems to make sure they are in good working order. Identifying problems and setting into motion the means of resolution.
- Completing compliance checks such as fire and legionella.
- Monitoring and ordering stocks such as cleaning materials, lamps, and tools.
- Coordinating contractor access to the site and monitoring their work to ensure it is completed to the standard agreed.
- Adhering to the company’s safety policies to create a safe working environment for everyone.
- Working out of hours as the emergency contact occasionally.
Skills and experiences:
- Previous experience of undertaking general caretaking and maintenance duties, including identifying and/or carrying out repairs
- Practical experience in operating hand tools and light machinery
- Good communication skills with excellent customer care skills
- Ability to use and update computerised systems including Microsoft Office applications.

The full time equivalent salary for this role is £25,944 based on 35 hours per week rising to £27,309 after 12 months service and subject to satisfactory performance
