As the Civil Engineer in this position, you will:

• Conduct engineering analysis by performing and coordinating technical planning activities, data collection that includes validation and management, modeling and data analysis, analysis of site location and conditions, risk estimation and analysis, and analysis of instrumentation data.

They are to maintain the highest standard of guest service and satisfaction. The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for emergency the team spirit and motivation all staff. They must also be fair and just in any staff disciplinary action required. The Engineering Supervisor is also expected to be a “hands on” supervisor. This Lead Transportation Security Officer position is located at Wilmington International Airport (ILM), Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a Lead Transportation Security Officer (LTSO), you will be responsible for leading at least three full-performance level Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) and, as assigned, trainee and apprentice level TSOs. As an LTSO, you will identify, distribute, and balance workloads and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow and skill level. You will make adjustments to accomplish the workload in accordance with established priorities. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Providing input to supervisors and managers concerning a variety of human resources matters including, but not limited to, employee performance, promotions, reassignments, awards, etc.
• Implementing security screening procedures in accordance with TSA objectives and directives.
• Assisting with investigations of incidents, and preparing incident reports or other documents that convey required information.
• Responding to breaches of security and emergency situations.
• Training team members, monitoring and reporting on the status and progress of work, and representing the team in communications with the supervisor or manager for the purpose of obtaining resources (e.g., computer hardware and software, etc.).

• Develops long and short-range program goals and objectives, priorities, and schedules. Develops the budget consistent with available funding resources to support the mission. Responsible for scheduling obligations and expenditures.
• Determine staffing need based on assigned workload, schedule, track, and recommend adjustments in order to fully use available resources.
• Monitor assigned contracts for compliance with construction CMR requirements. Raise deviations and advance solution in a timely manner. Ensure all reporting requirements are met.
• Personally, or through project engineers, provide technical supervision and administrative field control over construction performed by contractors on assigned contracts.
• Interprets plans and contract requirements and assures continuing Quality Assurance inspection of operations to assure construction complies with contract requirements. Makes periodic Quality Assurance visits to assigned projects.
• Resolve conflicting plan details or requirements, which become evident as construction progresses. Exercise engineering judgement to effect a practical solution to problems encountered.
• Personally or through project engineers monitor contract progress and obtain revised schedules when work is more than 10% behind schedule. Perform contract close out actions in a timely manner.
• As Administrative Contracting Officer ensure that modifications and other contract actions are processed in accordance with regulations and district policy.
• Supervises directly or through others the activities of a staff of project engineers, office engineers, construction representatives, engineering interns, engineering technicians, and clerical personnel assigned to the Resident and Area Offices.
• Assigns workload, explains areas of difficulty, plans/establishes new work methods, and interprets the more complex regulations, guides, and administrative polices. Selects employees, provides for training, and monitors/rates performance.

What Will Be Your Day to Day Responsibilities?

Within the role of receptionist, you will take on varying duties which will include but not be limited to:

• Act as the first point of contact for people on probation and visitors, delivering a professional greeting in person, via telephone, and email.
