• Conducts research and strategic analysis to develop policies and draft complex products, such as advisories to financial institutions, to disseminate key information regarding threats and risks that FinCEN has determined to be especially significant; Leads staff-level discussions on emerging trends, topics, and innovation as it relates to Anti-Money Laundering/Countering the Finance of Terrorism (AML/CFT) issues. Manages the development and recommendations of policy responses to safeguard the U.S. financial system from illicit use, combat money laundering, and promote national security.

Provides expert senior-level advice and assistance regarding ongoing strategic policy programs, initiatives, strategies, or projects, to include work related to the issuance of advisories to financial institutions, high-level policy development related to the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), and AML/CFT environments and threats; manages related assignments.
• Participates as a speaker or panelist at relevant conferences, and supports Congressional engagements and other domestic and international engagements upon request. Represents FinCEN and the Treasury Department in meetings with other U.S. and foreign government agencies and private sector representatives to convey information related to advisories and strategic policy issues involving AML/CFT.
• Maximizes communication and collaboration with all other components of FinCEN and ensures each component's unique expertise and authorities are brought to bear in a collaborative effort for maximum impact against the most serious money laundering and national security threats. Coordinates with law enforcement, industry representatives, Treasury counterparts, and other U.S. government entities to identify risks and vulnerabilities, develop insights on key AML/CFT risks and issues, and develop typologies, red flags, and other information for possible inclusion into advisories or other products designed to disseminate information to financial institutions.

As a Telecommunications Support Specialist, the incumbent provides substantive telecommunications program support on behalf of the Division and the Office. Works independently or on a team, as assigned, performing research, analyses and evaluations in order to provide information required for outreach, coordination and negotiations undertaken within the Division. The Associate Director Education supports the Deputy Director and the Senior Consultant for Operations in overseeing SPP Education and is responsible for coordinating and supporting VHA's National Strategy for Preventing Veteran Suicide and develops national suicide prevention training and education as well as recommends policy, programming and planning actions, and strategic guidance for suicide prevention for the Department of Veterans Affairs. The Associate Director Education provides support to the operationalization of the VA's 10-year National Strategy and its four major domains (Healthy & Empowered Communities, Clinical & Community Prevention Services, Treatment & Support Services, Surveillance, Research & Evaluation) through the SP NOW initiative.

The incumbent is responsible for the advancement of the translation of new suicide prevention initiatives into educational resources across the VA system and works closely with the Rocky Mountain MIRECC and VISN 2 CoE for Suicide Prevention in the translation process. The Associate Director Education is responsible for ensuring national rollout of initiatives are in alignment with implementation science principles and include interface with a wide range of clinical and administrative offices within VHA. These initiatives embody the mission to make "suicide prevention everyone's business" by co-leading the integration of suicide prevention into the broad VHA health care continuum.

The Associate Director Education will provide primary leadership to the Education team within the SPP office, leading the national suicide prevention education and training program as well as development of a policy and legislative agenda.
