This Information Technology Project Manager (INFOSEC) position is located Enterprise Support, Information Technology, End User Service Division, Field IT Services & Support Branch, Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Duties include but are not limited to:
- Exercises a full range of supervisory and personnel management authorities and responsibilities in directing work of subordinate staff. Coordinates and evaluates subordinates' work to assure balanced workload and timely responses to assigned actions. Gives advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.
- Establishes and maintains guidelines and controls, and manages the overall projects to include acquisition strategy, budget planning, engineering life cycle activities, developmental and operational and support, component procurement, and outsourcing. Provides expert technical skills and services to provide optimum solutions to complex and sensitive issues and difficult problems, often requiring innovative methods to achieve results.
- Advises, manages, and adheres to policy recommendations while ensuring compliance with existing IT security, cybersecurity, acquisition, enterprise change control and configuration management policies on a routine basis. Ensures the application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of information technology services.
- Ensure that appropriate Service-Level Agreements (SLAs) and underpinning contracts have been defined that clearly set out for the customer a description of the service and the measures for monitoring the service. Work with other service managers and product owners to balance and prioritize services to meet overall customer requirements, constraints, and objectives. Supervise, manage, and participate in the acquisition process as necessary. Supervises COR activities generally appropriate for contract vehicles of moderate to high complexity to include both supply and service contracts.
Supervisory/Managerial duties includes serving as a first line supervisor for the organization. This includes but is not limited to: assigning work, setting priorities, and reviewing and evaluating work and performance of subordinates; approving leave; coaching and developing employees; recommending corrective or disciplinary actions; assisting in budget planning and projecting short-term needs; managing projects within assigned resources; resolving routine problems that typically impact the objectives of the organizational unit; and when required, coordinating with customers outside the immediate organization.
