About You
As the Network Management and Road Safety Team Leader, you will be at the heart of our transport network's management and development, fulfilling our responsibilities as a highway authority. You will:
- Bring People Together: Working closely with other teams within, and outside, the service you will be effective at enabling multi-disciplinary professionals to collaborate towards shared goals. You will be a versatile and engaging communicator, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels, dealing with colleagues, the public, members and other stakeholders with empathy and understanding.
- Support Positive Democracy: You will be a key figure in managing our advice, inputs and governance requirements to members and within the local government democratic process. You will be sensitive to the needs of members and provide objective and professional advice and support.
- Manage Big Responsibilities: You will be responsible for managing the authorities inputs into the delivery of capital schemes, working to ensure that Road Safety Audits are carried out ensuring that the network works for everyone. Further to this, you will oversee local initiative and minor works on Councillor led schemes, liaising with elected members and the public in consultations and report writing.
- Lead and Inspire: You will be the lead for a number of smaller teams, with diverse responsibilities and different pressures. You will be responsible for inspiring them to deliver quality services for residents, and for supporting them effectively in their ongoing development.

We handle investigations, feasibility studies, data analysis, policy development, scheme design, sustainable travel initiatives, and road safety.
