What you'll be doing:

• Supporting engagement with the GCAP International Government Organisation (GIGO) as required across the engineering lifecycle meet the Secure by Design policy objectives
• Supporting the Engineering Disciplines, contributing to achieving assurance to the GIGO, ultimately achieving a Security Authority to Operate for the GCAP System
• Identifying the MODs requirements for assurance of the GCAP system
• Create a plan of how these requirements will be addressed within and across the programme
• Manage and act as the internal review for the assurance deliverables

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

• Degree educated in a STEM discipline or HND/HNC or time served experience with a clear understanding of the Engineering Lifecycle
• Sound experience in a systems integration environment
• Knowledge of security accreditation/assurance processes and activities, although knowledge or airworthiness or quality processes may be beneficial

Desirable:

• Knowledge of Model Based Engineering approaches and the supporting methods and toolsets.

Your new role
Your new role will see you working across multiple mechanical and HVAC designs across the above-mentioned sectors.
This consultancy is looking for an engineer who wants to invest in their vocation, so your role will not only include the completion of designs but also mentoring junior staff, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, attending site visits and running jobs.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role you will have a minimum of 6 years' UK Mechanical Building Services experience, have an ambition to grow within your career and have a forward-looking attitude towards not only your development but those around you. You must be familiar with standard design software and RIBA 1-4.

Development Engineer

About the role - Development Engineer

An established house builder have a requirement for a Development Engineer to support the technical team to ensure that Section 38 and 104 roads and sewers are designed, approved, and constructed to appropriate adoption standards and that all engineering aspects on the developments are executed proactively and effectively in line with the business's goals and objectives. This role would also suit an Assistant Development Engineer looking for that next step up in their career.

Duties & responsibilities:

• Assist the Technical and Commercial Departments in issuing tender drawings to contractors, assessing them upon return and engaging with pre award meetings.
• Review engineering designs to ensure their cost effectiveness and build ability
• Co-ordination of as-built surveys as required and in turn produce in AutoCAD as-built road and sewer adoption drawings;
• S278, S38, S104 & S185 adoptions. Inspect road and sewer works form commencement to formal adoption by Local Authority. Ensure works are carried out within an agreed budget and timescale.
• Obtaining, checking and issuing plot postal addresses.
• Obtaining Multi utility /service connection quotations and assess them with Engineering Manager before appointment and monitor and assist the site teams in delivering mains and plot connections.
• Prior to legal completion of all new homes, ensure the appropriate driveways and footpaths are completed to agreed standards.
• Answer queries from site on engineering issues with support from Line Manager/s
• Prepare and maintain drawing registers for all engineering details and drawings as necessary and ensure up to date records are kept of all drawing issues;
• Prepare External Works and Plot Drainage plans, using AutoCAD, in the AHL agreed standard.
• Produce, manage, and monitor a Materials Management Plan of required and surplus topsoil and subsoil for each allocated Development.
• Check and co-ordinate information from external consultants, suppliers and manufacturers on engineering related details;

Requirements for the Development Engineer

• HNC / HND in Construction/Civil Engineering
• AutoCAD proficient
• Good engineering knowledge from previous experience of working within the House Building Sector;
• Commercial awareness;
• Health and safety awareness;
• Ability to work within a busy team environment and autonomously as the role requires.

Assistant Development Engineer

A growing construction and house building company are currently looking for an Assistant Development Engineer to support the technical team and Engineering Manager to ensure all roads and sewers are designed and adopted to specification.

The Assistant Development Engineer will be responsible for working on housing developments in the Lancashire and Greater Manchester region.

Role of the Assistant Development Engineer
