This is a career ladder progression position; the duties described below are at the GS-12 level. The Primary Purpose of this position is: This an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Officer position located at an Air Force Reserve Flying Squadron. The purpose of this position is to manage the total operations function of the squadron on a daily basis.

Duties

1. Employees assigned to these positions supervise, direct and monitor operations programs for the training of a Reserve flying unit, including flight operations, unit training, intelligence, communications and tactical planning. Responsible to the Aircraft Operations Officer/Air Commander for all matters pertaining to operational readiness and effectiveness of the unit. Directs all operations and maintenance training programs for the Squadron.
Instructs or examines pilots in flying proficiency, plans flights and training missions, evaluates pilots, plans course outlines. Analyzes directives from higher headquarters and information available in form of accident reports and mission readiness reports in order to develop operational plans, standard operating procedures, and implementing instructions pertaining to General Military Training of Squadron personnel, electronic warfare, tactics training, flight operations, intelligence, and command center communications training.
2. Ensures the operational readiness and effectiveness of the unit. Ensures effective unit manning, retention, and recruitment of personnel.
Manages the Squadron's flying hour program to ensure equitable distribution among the assigned aircrews.
3. Coordinates plans and programs with appropriate staff activities such as personnel, communications, maintenance, intelligence, medical, and armament to insure adequate facilities for aircraft crews.
4. Observes and evaluates effectiveness of training programs and operation of other activities
supervised.
5. Participates in combat training missions and conduct post-mission critiques to evaluate effectiveness and proficiencies of air crews.
6. Directs briefing of combat crews on such phases of mission as formation and tactics, weather, rendezvous points, targets, and expected enemy opposition.

• Serve as center’s IH Program Manager and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all matters regarding Industrial Hygiene.
• Formulate IH health hazard evaluations (in response to center safety reviews and project consultations) on all center operations to include institutional, science and construction projects; reporting the needed mitigation to ensure safe operations.
• Develop, plan, and implement comprehensive IH sampling/assessment design and perform health hazard sampling, surveys, and exposure assessments as required by the NASA set Environmental Health (EH) policies.

This Master Transportation Security Officer- Security Training Instructor position is located at Sacramento International Airport (SMF), Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a Master Transportation Security Officer (MTSO), you will support the airport training program through performance of a variety of training-related functions. In addition to training program responsibilities, you will also perform pre-board security screening of persons, cargo, carry-on, and checked baggage as directed by the Federal Security Director (FSD), or his/her designee, a minimum of 20% of the time. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Performing training instruction within established guidelines and standards in support of nationally developed training programs (e.g., new hire training, On-Screen Alarm Resolution Protocol, Crossover); supporting recurrent training needs, and conducting return to duty and remediation training.
• Adapting/developing local training materials to meet requirements; conducting local training in accordance with training standards; assisting with the training department administrative support (e.g., Online Learning Center (OLC) entry, training resource room facilitation, roster management, conducting testing, and ensuring evaluations are done); assisting with training logistics support components (e.g., coordinating needed supplies and materials); managing classroom dynamics; resolving routine classroom problems; monitoring and evaluating training and providing feedback on needed adjustments; recommending enhancements; and maintaining communication with management and supervisors concerning issues with training that may reveal security-screening weaknesses or vulnerabilities.

Major duties and responsibilities are summarized below:

Training

Orients new employees to the whole CYP system and provides them with basic information that can be applied in all settings.

Works with CYP Directors to establish training plans and schedules for employee and provider training. Arranges for total CYP training opportunities, including training of management, administration, food service, and direct staff.

Provides training that is appropriate for and tailored to the age group of the children and youth with whom the CYP employees and CDH providers work.

Executes the Department of Navy (DoN) Standardized Module Training, provides initial and ongoing annual training, and ensures training is available to support career progression. Arranges for subject matter experts to conduct/support specialized training.

Ensures completion and documentation of required monthly training. Works with CY Program Assistants to ensure modules are completed.

Identifies additional training needs.

Maintains training records and individual development plans. Prepares training status reports and recommendations to supervisors and notifies CYP Directors of employees' and providers' training status and performance.

Develops programs that encourage and support the pursuit of continuing higher education by documenting requirements for completion of the Child Development Associate (CDA) or the

Military School-Age Credential (MSA), and providing information, assistance and guidance to employees and providers who are seeking college-level classes to meet their professional goals.

Assists the CDH Director and CDH Monitor(s) to encourage providers to become accredited.

Develops a working relationship with local colleges, universities and professional organizations and advises employees/providers about continuing avenues of professional development.

Classroom/Program Support

Ensures that the required Navy curriculum is implemented within each CYP (i.e., supports implementation and execution of the Navy standardized curriculum within the Child Development Center (CDC), including assisting CY Program Assistants and Leaders by documenting observations and assessments, evaluating classroom environments, reviewing weekly activity plans, and providing additional training when needed).

Coordinates programming that supports the children and youth's physical, social, emotional, cognitive and language development regardless of setting or length of time in care.

Ensures the quality and consistency of developmental programming to include the environment, equipment, materials, program structure, curriculum, risk management practices, and oversight and coordination of activity schedules and lesson plans.

Role models appropriate behaviors and techniques working with children and youth.

Observes in program settings throughout all hours of operation to assess employee competency and direct training needs for groups and/or individuals. Provides feedback to employees and supervisors.

Works with CY Program Assistants and Leaders to evaluate classroom or activity area environments and makes recommendations to the Director for the selection of developmentally appropriate toys, materials and equipment.

Maintains a resource file library to aid employees in preparing lesson plans and activity schedules and to assist with training objectives.

Reviews lesson plans to ensure they are appropriate and based on curriculum requirements. Provides daily assistance with plans if needed.

Assists in and supports development and implementation of parent education and parent participation programs.

Compliance

Provides training to CYP employees so they can ensure classroom and activity area compliance with fire, safety, and sanitation rules and regulation.

Provides support for CYP employees and CDH providers in preparing for inspections and accreditation.

Carries out EEO policies and communicates support of those policies to CYP employees.

Additional Responsibilities

In the absence of the CYP Director, incumbent may assume the responsibilities of the CYP Director and perform duties and requirements of the position.

Incumbent is a mandatory reporter to Family Advocacy and Child Protective Services as prescribed by local policy in the case of suspected incidences of child abuse and neglect.
