What to Expect

• Coordinates and performs a wide variety of responsible administrative functions in support of upper level management functions. Organizes flow of operational program processes in an office environment.
• Advises staff on development and implementation of local administrative directives and procedures. Develops internal policies, procedures and work methods affecting administrative management operations.
• Ensures compliance by managers and supervisors by reviewing and revising studies, reports, correspondence for accuracy and format. 
• Uses a personal computer to transmit correspondence, create reports, databases, spreadsheets, graphics, slide shows and presentations.
• May perform support functions such as gathering statistical data; monitoring and reporting on support budgets; assisting in developing financial plans, obligating funds, liquidating travel claims; maintaining stock of office supplies, making arrangements for special events; collecting and reviewing section timecards for supervisor's signature, preparing and conducting briefs, presentations and training sessions; monitoring and distributing personnel paperwork such as selection and recruitment requests, personnel actions, training notices, performance reviews, position descriptions, individual development plans.
• This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.

• Coordinate and processes personnel actions regarding records, publications, performance appraisals in accordance with established policy and guidance.
• Locate materials in files and records to determine applicable retention and retirement schedules, and/or disposal of records in accordance with established procedures.
• Assemble data in final form for presentation, distribution, or publication.
• Prepare charts, slides, statistics, and other management aids for use in briefings or other presentations.

• Receives children, youth, parents, and other visitors in a courteous and professional manner. Answers telephones, ascertains nature of call, and directs caller to appropriate staff.
• Ensures parents, children, youth, and visitors properly sign into the program prior to passing the reception area of the facility. Monitors children’s departure to ensure only authorized individuals remove them from the building.
• Registers/terminates children/youth within the CYS program and/or waiting list database. Utilizes the Child and Youth Management System (CYMS) to record transactions for customers and to enter data into predefined categories for reports and tracking.
• Provides administrative support including mail preparation, copying, distribution, correspondence, memorandums, briefings, Daily Activity Reports, and other requirements for day-to-day operations.
• Articulates policies relating to patron fees, waiting lists, enrollments, terminations, and program events. Coordinates vacancies and reservations for the hourly care program as required.

The duties include and are not limited to:

• Schedule and review work activities performed in an office, including reporting and record keeping.
• Maintain files and reports and reviews reports and correspondence prepared to ensure conformance with regulations, grammar, format, policies, and procedures, etc.

• Serves as Law Clerk in the Office of Soldiers’ Counsel. Under close supervision and review of the attorney to whom assigned, provides, interpretations and determinations on matters involved in Soldiers Physical Evaluation Board Counsel (SPEBC).
• Performs legal research in final form, on a variety of complex and difficult legal problems in all areas of responsibility of the Office of Soldiers’ Counsel.

• Serves as Attorney Adviser (General) at the Regional Office of Soldiers’ Counsel (ROSC) under the direct supervision of the Supervisory Attorney Adviser (General).
• Responsible for providing Soldiers Physical Evaluation Board Counsel (SPEBC) legal services within the Office of Soldiers RSOC.
• Incumbent provides legal advice and counsel to clients in the PEB phase of IDES processing upon completion of the MEB.
• Prepares the client’s formal board case file by conducting research in connection with pending and past cases, analyzes factual and legal issues, gathers and analyzes medical records, diagnostic evaluations, and formulary tables.
• Coordinate and support the Soldiers Medical Evaluation Board Counsel (SMEBC) during the MEB process; research and analyze medical and legal issues and complete work product in a timely and professional manner.
