Responsibilities:

The Linear and Transfer Systems Value Stream Manager (VSM) is a strategic role with full responsibility for leading the operations activities and ensuring the Value Stream meets the required customer and business commitments. As a Code Welder you will be responsible for performing various mechanical, maintenance and repair work including the inspection and maintenance work required for rotating machinery and equipment, and may inspect and adjust the mechanical alignment of pumps, replace or rebuild pumps, replace fan bearings, replace motors, repair screw conveyors, rebuild or change gearboxes, install and modify pipe lines, and assist in the modification and addition of plant projects.

Position Responsibilities:

· The inspection and maintenance work required for rotating machinery and equipment

· Inspect and adjust, as necessary, the mechanical alignment, balance, level and general condition of conveyors, compressors, boilers, pumps, water treatment equipment, stokers, fans turbines, diesel engines, gear reducers and other rotating equipment throughout the plant

· Check, repair, adjust or replace couplings, bearings and mounts

· Fabricate and weld to standard platforms, chutes and other non-pressure vessel code welding procedures

· Perform weld repairs on pressure part vessels and piping

· Perform preventative maintenance tasks including routine vibration test, thermography & ultrasonic testing

· Actively participate in the periodic teardown and internal inspection of major equipment.

· Use various shop equipment in the performance of his/her assigned tasks, such as the repair or rebuilding of soot blower devices, gearboxes, speed reducers, pumps and other assemblies

· Read and interpret measuring tools, graphs and technical manuals

· Follow all health and safety rules and regulations mandated by law and per the policies and procedures. Keep work area clean, safe and orderly

Position Requirements:

· Five years’ experience in the repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment and a

· High School/GED Diploma

· Formal technical or apprenticeship training, preferred

· Must be certified to weld pressure parts

Must have knowledge of:

· Understanding blueprints and be capable of performing all welding scopes to include stick, Tig and Mig welding, welding of steel and stainless steel, and be able to become code qualified for boiler repairs.

· Candidate must have excellent manual dexterity, allowing for the repair of precision equipment, safely and effectively, while working in awkward locations/positions.

· Oral and written communication skills, along with problem solving and decision-making ability.

· Fundamental computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and standard operating & safety procedures.

· Must be able to work overtime on a rotating on-call schedule to support plant operations

What you’ll do

• As lead SRE, manage complex system(s) uptime across cloud-native (AWS, GCP) and hybrid architectures

• Create and maintain cloud infrastructure capacity plans using estimation models that meet the expected service level objectives of the system(s). Operate systems at an optimal cost while maintaining availability targets

• Design and build infrastructure as code (IAC) patterns that meet security and engineering standards using one or more technologies (Terraform, scripting with cloud CLI, and programming with cloud SDK)

• Build CI/CD pipelines for build, test and deployment of application and cloud architecture patterns, using platform (Jenkins) and cloud-native toolchains

• Create the communication narrative to influence product, engineering, security, Cloud CoE, customers for the reliability and uptime issues and improvements

• Collaborate with Business Units and other team members to set SLAs based upon past requirements

• Collaborate and contribute to virtual teams in an opensource/innersource engineering model

• Lead availability blameless postmortem and own the call to action to remediate recurrences

• Build relationships and contribute technically alongside internal/vendor engineering teams. Influence the product roadmaps for external services that systems/services are dependent upon

• Effectively communicate to technical peers and team members in both written and verbal formats

What experience you need

• BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent job experience required

• 4+ years of experience developing and/or administering software in public cloud

• 7+ years experience in languages such as Python, Bash, Java, Go JavaScript and/or node.js

• 7+ years system administration skills, including automation and orchestration of Linux/Windows using Terraform, Chef, Ansibleand/or containers (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)

• 7+ years of demonstrable cross-functional knowledge with systems, storage, networking, security and databases

• 7+ years experience in monitoring infrastructure and application uptime and availability to ensure functional and performance objectives.

• 7+ years of proficiency with continuous integration and continuous delivery tooling and practices

• 7+ years of expertise designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
