Biobank Operations Provide day-to-day management of the HaemBio Biobank. Manage and oversee amendments to regulatory authorities. Ensure that Biobank operations are in accordance with SOPs and all regulatory and research governance requirements (including the Human Tissue Act). This includes quality control and maintenance of the Biobanks documentation, regular audit of banking process, and investigations of deviations in practice, which should be reported to the Biobank Governance Committee as appropriate. Provide advice and support to other staff members with regard to Biobank and research governance and conduct. Maintain strong relationships and good communication with other key personnel in the Biobank. Manage and conduct regular audits, dealing with complex facts or situations requiring analysis, interpretation and comparison of options to ensure compliance with HTA requirements. Co-ordinate data collection and storage with Tissue Collection Centres and liaise with external database provider to ensure that the online database is fit for purpose. Communicate complex and sometimes sensitive information with relevant parties including external collaborators with matters relevant to the Biobank including outreach activity and monitoring visits of Tissue Collection Centres. Assist the Chief Investigator in ensuring that the Biobank operates with agreed budgets in conjunction with the Biobank Governance Committee, including maintaining spreadsheets of expenses, raising purchase orders, and ensuring payment of invoices. In conjunction with the Biobank Governance Committee and University Research Services ensure appropriate contracts are in place for the conduct of the work with external parties. Maintain knowledge of Biobank governance issues and an understanding of national and local policies. Performance Management and Service Development Organise and attend the Governance Committee meetings. Organise regular update meetings with relevant stakeholders including Tissue Collection Centres and Researchers, undertaking qualitative assessment to ensure compliance with a range of targets. Maintain the Biobank website. Assist the Governance Committee members with the preparation of reports andmanuscripts to share progress with funders, collaborators and wider public. With support from the Governance Committee, assist with the development and implementation of operational and strategic policy for the Biobank. In consultation with the Governance Committee, take the lead in the development of standard operational procedures (SOPs) for the Biobank, and assist in implementation of new amendments. Assist in gaining regulatory and ethical approval for future protocol amendments. Assist with recruitment, training and supervision of Biobank staff members as appropriate. Work with the Manual Handling Training Coordinator and other Manual Handling Trainers to ensure the effective and efficient running of the manual handling training centre. Be responsible for the delivery of all mandatory central manual handling training to staff, both clinical and non clinical, and support the back care facilitator training system. Support, supervise and, where necessary, train with the unit-based Back Care Facilitators at departmental level, working with the back care advisors to adapt techniques to prevent back injuries and promote safe handling techniques. Promote recommended standards of practice, in line with professional bodies, during training, ensuring all measures are taken to promote the safety of staff and that any incidents/near misses are reported in a timely manner. Promote risk assessment within the training sessions as a tool to develop safe practices, safeguard staff, and to effectively communicate advice on back care and moving and handling to multidisciplinary teams. The post holder will work directly with the Senior Neonatal and Maternity team in leading the clinical governance agenda within the Childrens Directorate to enable across Division governance process with Maternity services. They are responsible for the coordination of clinical governance procedures and frameworks and for ensuring that the quality of care in the departments, patient experience, patient and staff safety and clinical effectiveness are of the highest standard, meeting shared national and local maternity and neonatal outcomes. The post holder will co-manage the perinatal clinical governance team in the further development of robust systems and processes throughout the Directorate, the NOTSSCaN Division and across Maternity in relation to clinical governance and quality, which underpins safe clinical practice and patient and staff safety. The role encompasses patient safety, risk management, oversight of complaints, quality improvement, bereavement processes, clinical effectiveness programmes and the triangulation of learning. The post holder will provide leadership, guidance, and expertise within the wider multi-professional team for both the Childrens Directorate and Maternity Directorate for clinical governance and risk management. This will include putting in place strategies and frameworks that ensure the Neonatal and Maternity service meets the Trust and NHSLA/BAPM standards for clinical governance. The overall focus of the post is the continuing development of a seamless Clinical Governance and Risk Management Strategy that fosters multidisciplinary working across the Directorate.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: CLINICAL Be professionally and legally accountable for own work and caseload. Work autonomously as the lead clinical specialist, in the provision of a comprehensive nutrition and dietetic service to the Adult CF service at the John Radcliffe Hospital. Lead and coordinate dietetic provision to ensure a comprehensive specialised Adult CF dietetic service is provided to approx. 180 adults attending the John Radcliffe Hospital. This could include: Outpatient clinics Inpatient stays CF Annual review appointments Transition clinics Home visits (joint or on own) Work as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to patient care. This involves reviewing patients jointly with the Adult CF consultant and/or adult CF specialist nurse during outpatient appointments, on the ward or in the patients own home. Participate fully in the problem-solving aspects of the consultation which may involve: changing insulin doses, regimens, and the types of insulin used. changing the daily routine of insulin injections to fit with an individuals lifestyle and diet. advising on the management of hypoglycaemia. interpretation of biochemistry results. discussing dietary issues associated with therapy changes. Provide ongoing education for the patient and their family on the ward, in outpatient clinics, at home and on the telephone as dictated by the needs of the individual and according to the agreed standards in the CF team guidelines. To assess the nutritional status of individual patients based on anthropometric measurements e.g. weight, height, weight history as well as biochemical parameters, diet history and other validated methods of nutritional assessment as appropriate. Obtain and analyse relevant information from different sources including medical notes, nursing notes, patient and their parents or carers, ward staff etc, in order to make a comprehensive assessment of the patients needs for management and education on diabetes. Attend weekly Adult CF team meetings when patient care is reviewed, liaison meetings with other multi-disciplinary teams where patients joint care is planned and reviewed, case conferences, ward rounds and meetings with outside agencies. To have responsibility for all organisation, liaison and monitoring of the dietetic aspect of the annual review process. Responding to telephone calls for advice when specific problems with managing CF occur. These may be dietary or for advice on fluctuations in blood glucose, adjustment of insulin doses, treatment of hypoglycaemia or hyperglycaemia associated with illness. To communicate effectively with patients, parents/carers, family and other health professionals. Skills of negotiation, motivation, explanation and gaining consent will be used in a wide variety of and sometimes sensitive situations. The ability to communicate complex information at an appropriate level to allow understanding is essential. Barriers to communication may be evident e.g. loss of hearing, receptive and expressive problems with the formulation and understanding of language or difficulties with speaking. The use of communication aids such as letter/picture boards or games may be necessary. Participate in research undertaken by the Adult CF team. Presentation of audit or research results at national or international conferences to promote practise and share expertise with colleagues. To provide specialist advice, teaching and training to all members of the multidisciplinary team, regarding the nutritional management of adults with CF. This involves regular participation in in-house training of clinicians and both specialist and ward nursing staff. Organisational To determine priorities for own work area based on clinical need and balance patient caseload with professional demands. To ensure the dietetic components of the diabetes service, in order for the service to obtain the best practice tariff, are provided and recorded by the dietetic team. To collect data as required by the department, trust and outside agencies, including collation of audit data on the outcomes of CF care for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. To determine priorities for own work area based on clinical need and balance patient caseload with professional demands. To maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient interventions on dietetic record cards/electronic patient records. To communicate any changes in day-to-day management and dietetic interventions to appropriate members of the multidisciplinary team. This is achieved by documenting within nursing/medical notes or by means of generating a letter/report and/or updating any patient database. PROFESSIONAL To initiate and lead discussions on organisational, professional and clinical issues relevant to the service area. Along with the Service Managers, to be responsible for the dietetic service provided to their clinical area and its development. To continue to develop own knowledge and skills and contribute to the development of colleagues within the MDT and the Dietetic Service. This involves: a) taking responsibility for own continuing professional development (CPD) and provide evidence for this by maintaining a CPD portfolio. CPD involves critical evaluation of scientific papers, attending professional development meetings, working as a reflective practitioner and attending relevant internal/external courses. b) Participating in own annual appraisal, identifying own development and training needs and setting personal development objectives with line manager. c) Undertaking all relevant statutory and mandatory training d) Involvement in the dietetic student training programme e) Providing specialist education and advice to dietetic colleagues in the area of allergy via regular departmental professional update meetings f) Attending and representing the department and lead area of work at the regional and national meetings as appropriate. To be responsible for communicating effectively and working collaboratively with the Dietetic team, line managers, other health professionals within the MDT and other organisations to ensure a co-ordinated and evidence-based approach to the delivery of dietetic care. To have responsibility for and lead the development, promotion and delivery of the new specialist dietetic post for patients on CF ward. This involves a) Developing dietetic practice to ensure evidence-based practice and an equitable service delivery b) Applying legislation, policies and procedures and making appropriate recommendations for service delivery c) Managing development projects relevant to the clinical area, the dietetic service and the NHS organisations involved d) Making recommendations and managing service improvement e) Evaluating own work and that of the team, including clinical audit f) Recognising the need to seek appropriate support g) Active involvement in multidisciplinary team meetings, dietetic departmental meetings and discussions To demonstrate risk management skills and a sound understanding of clinical governance and apply to the work situation. Education and professional development responsibility: To keep a portfolio providing evidence of continual professional development (C.P.D.). The successful candidate will be able to work well within the team and be willing to work a mixed shift pattern including days and nights across the whole week. They will have at least 3 years post registration experience with a relevant course for Paediatric Critical Care, and at least 1 year experience working as a Band 6 within Paediatric Critical Care. They will be a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual with excellent clinical and communication skills, with an ability to lead and motivate others. Mental Health Support Worker - £24,050 - £26,000 per annum (Salaries vary depending on experiences)

Plus additional sleep-in payment per sleep in shift.

Hours – 37 hours per week, Monday – Sunday, inclusive of bank holidays, shifts include mornings, evenings, weekends & sleep in’s.

Service – Scrutton Close, Oxford.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Response is looking for an enthusiastic, caring person to join their dedicated team at Scrutton Close! The Scrutton Close team focus on supporting clients within their own accommodation. Staff offer a high level of support, and work closely with clients to achieve their personal goals and gain increased independence before taking the next step in their journey. Scrutton is staffed 24 hours, 7 days a week, with a sleep-in employee available from 11 pm until 7 am.

As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing person-centred support to residents with serious mental illness including adults who have a primary diagnosis of a psychotic illness often with one or more coexisting conditions such physical health issues, neurodiversity, drugs & alcohol use and cognitive impairment.

Support workers work with residents to enable them to achieve and sustain a rewarding life in the community. Working proactively with residents to promote independence, well-being and ability to manage their own mental health. Staff are responsible for ensuring safety is always maintained though good housing management, risk assessment and health & safety practice. Supporting people to maintain tenancies, look after their homes and develop daily living skills.

Some of the core duties include:


Provide emotional support, encouragement, and practical assistance to residents with daily living activities. This may include medication assistance, engaging with interests, education, accessing community groups/facilities, employment, teaching life skills such as shopping, budgeting, using public transport and skills such as planning to prepare and cook meals, maintain accommodation.
Foster a supportive and empowering environment that promotes residents' independence.
Support and monitor clients physical and mental health through key working and ensuring access where appropriate to primary health services or liaising with mental health services.
Support clients to attend appointments where required.
Ensure daily paperwork is completed.
Support the Service Manager to achieve monthly service
Comply with all Health and Safety measures to keep residents, visitors, colleagues and yourself safe.
Work with all residents using a trauma informed approach using the 6 principles of trauma informed care: Safety, Trust, Choice, Collaboration, Empowerment and Cultural Consideration
Promote family, friend and carers engagement, ensuring they are involved in their loved one’s support and given information about the service.

Essential criteria:


GCSE’s in English and Maths (or equivalent)
A commitment to undertake continual personal development including completing the Care Certificate
IT literate with experience using MS Office packages.
Good communication skills, written, verbal and listening.
Ability to provide non-judgemental, emotional and practical support to residents.
A genuine interest in mental health and well-being with a commitment to delivering Response's mission.
Demonstrates high levels of personal and professional integrity working to Response’s vision, mission and values
