Based at the Royal Devon and Exeter (Wonford) site, the role is diverse and the post-holder will be responsible for providing support and practical advice to the bereaved, assisting with post mortem examinations, reconstruction of the deceased and supporting the corneal retrieval scheme by performing enucleations. Other duties include being involved in a full range of Mortuary and Bereavement service roles such as admitting and releasing of patients to funeral services, administrative duties and maintaining the cleanliness of the department. The right candidate will strive to deliver the highest level of service to the bereaved and associated service users. The role at times can be emotionally and mentally demanding. It requires meticulous attention to detail, high-levels of concentration, moderate physical strength and a positive attitude.
