What skills and experience we're looking for

ROLE OVERVIEW:

To provide an education welfare service for children, their families and Academies within the Trust, with a secondary focus, ensuring children receive education appropriate to their needs, and obtaining the maximum benefit from education opportunities, by regular attendance at school or otherwise.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• To act as children’s education advocate and to facilitate the educational partnership between home, school, community and Local Authority, by support, liaison and negotiation; and where conflict arises to give paramount consideration to the interests of the child.
• To monitor and coordinate day to day Academy attendance: Academy visits, home visits, liaison with outside agencies, learning mentors and pastoral teams.
• To identify students not meeting acceptable thresholds and ensure interventions are in place.
• To undertake referrals to external agencies (including Early Help) to support students with attendance issues.
• To advise and support schools in the implementation of School Attendance Regulations and in the use of attendance statistics for the monitoring and management of school attendance.
• To take supportive/remedial action in respect of children with socially related, emotional/behavioural difficulties in school and those with special educational needs; and to provide advice and assistance for parents, carers and students in all matters related to exclusions from school.
• To prepare reports on attendance, including statistical analysis termly, annually, and ad hoc as required for the Trust Board and Local Governing Boards.
• To support the re-integration of students after long-term absence period or from alternative provision.
• To work with Headteachers/Principals and Heads of School to improve and secure high levels of attendance and facilitate best practice.
• To assess and verify attendance difficulties including developing parental relationships gaining knowledge and understanding of absences, identifying and providing assistance and advice to parents/guardians, and when necessary, involvement in court proceedings.
• To establish constructive relationships and communicate with other agencies/professionals, in liaison with teachers to support achievement and progress of students.
• To refer to child protection procedures and escalate cases to the safeguarding team, as appropriate.
• To invoke the legal process for absences/court proceedings and to provide training on legal proceedings for Attendance Leads in schools/UTC.
• To line manage attendance leads in schools/UTC to ensure that the Trust Attendance policy is being effectively implemented, this includes ensuring appropriate coding is used in registers and where appropriate Trust training is provided to ensure a consistent approach.
• To support the SENCO’s Trust wide to identify barriers of non-attenders and to support SENCo’s with implementing key strategies to improve the attendance of SEND students.

Working within the remit of the National Frameworks for Continuing Healthcare, the post holder will deliver an effective and competent level of service and consistently deliver a client-focused service. The post holder will be required to manage a caseload of CHC Eligible individuals ensuring The National Framework for NHS Continuing Healthcare and Funded-Nursing Care is implemented and complied with, according to the principles and processes. The post holder will oversee a caseload of complex cases, undertake annual eligibility reviews and manage Continuing Healthcare packages of care, ensuring value for money placements which meet the needs of the individual and identify opportunities for development and improvement to assist delivery of best practice healthcare. The post holder will assist NHS Dorset commissioners in searching for care and make recommendations on most appropriate placement. This is not a patient facing role, and is predominantly desk based, requiring high levels of concentration and an ability to analyse health, social care, and other agency records to identify whether the individual has/had a Primary Health Care Need, in accordance with the National Framework for Continuing Health Care. The Animal Welfare and Science department are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic and self-motivated candidates who have a passion for animal welfare and supporting the development of learners in a college environment to join the team. The successful candidate will be confident in the welfare, husbandry and handling of a range of animals, from small mammals and reptiles to livestock and equids. You will need to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the animals at all times.
The ideal candidate will have a calm working approach, be able to multi-task and have the ability to ‘think on their feet’. A friendly and approachable candidate will need to communicate with staff, learners and visitors to the animal park. During term time, our Animal Welfare and Science technicians work very closely with a range of learners in the department, so an ability and willingness to work with medium / large groups of learners is key to this role.
Successful candidates will be encouraged to complete the Level 3 teacher training qualification to support their delivery to learners in this role.

Budwood, a part of Polaris Community, are a local business providing Residential Care and Support to children and young people with emotional behavioural difficulties as well as social and emotional mental health. We are looking for passionate Residential Support Workers to join one of our homes in Dorchester. You will be a part of a team that provide flexible and individual care packages towards all our children and young adults. Working for Budwood, you will be joining a supportive and collaborative team which recognises you as an individual. All staff are trained in 'Developmental Trauma' and therapeutic parenting to best aid your understanding and ability to provide young people with the best support possible.

Main Duties and Requirements:

• Experience of working with children and young people as well as understanding of the issues that face young people in care
• Flexibility in your availability as you will be required to work 7 x 24 hour shifts including sleep ins over a 3 week rotation- 09:00am- 09:30am the following day
• Promoting, safeguarding and protecting the welfare of our young people
• Establishing and maintaining positive and trusting relationships with our young people
• To work well as part of a team and must be able to accept direction and guidance
• Encouraging the development of the individual interests of our young people

ROLE:
You will provide fast, efficient, pleasant and unrivalled customer service. As a Retail Store Manager of Grape Tree, you need to ensure that the store is well stocked, clean and tidy and that customers leave the store with a lasting image to ensure they keep returning.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Strong understanding of stock control ie ordering goods, dealing with deliveries and banking monies
b) You must be a hands on manager
c) Operate the till in accordance with the company instructions
d) Provide highest possible standard of customer service.
e) Ensure that the shelves are well filled/stocked and faced up at all times.
f) Ensure correct pricing of products and stock rotation including the removal from sale of any goods exceeding the ``use by`` date and advise management of any ``Best before`` issues.
