The post holder will be a key member of the Candover Radiology team, working with and supporting the Clinical Lead Radiographer and the Radiology Manger to provide the MRI and CT service for the Candover Clinic with the additional requirement of performing some X-ray and DEXA radiography.

The post holder will work with the Clinical Lead Radiographer to ensure a high quality and efficient MRI and CT service. Previous experience in cross sectional imaging is preferred, but training will be provided if not
• To perform the full range of MRI and CT imaging examinations including Cardiac, Body, Angio, MSK etc. The majority of our cross-sectional patients are Private Outpatients.
• To perform the full range of X-ray imaging examinations including paediatric imaging and long leg examinations currently performed in main X-ray. Majority of patients are private outpatients.
• To perform all Dexa imaging requirements for the Candover Clinic
• To independently assess and vet X-ray referrals following Department policy, and guidelines where appropriate.
• To supervise and assist specialist and junior radiographers and students.
• To provide senior support to the Clinical Lead and to provide senior cover during the Lead’s absence.o understand the physics involved in x-ray with an ability to manipulate protocols to improve imaging and reduce dose.o prioritise workload and regularly reassess to ensure patient needs are met
• To undertake examinations to a high standard, across a range of clinical specialities, upon a range of patient types, both as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a multi professional team, in a manner that meets professional, departmental and legal standards and requirements.
• To give IV injections of MRI and CT contrast agents, including the use of specialist injector pumps. Training will be provided where required.
