We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, skilled and enthusiastic Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our well-established, dynamic and welcoming Adult Community Psychology Team in South West Essex. They will lead on offering comprehensive psychological assessment and risk assessments, together with evidence-based interventions targeted at managing the needs of clients presenting with severe and enduring problems.

The Adult Community Psychological Service provides a Tier 2 service to the South Essex locality. The post holder will be expected to provide specialist psychological input to the local community mental health teams comprising the First Response Team (FRT) and Recovery and Wellbeing Team (RWT). The FRT delivers care and interventions to clients newly referred to secondary care mental health services for a period of 6 months. The RWT delivers care plans aligned to recovery focused outcomes to clients with longer term needs. As a member of the multidisciplinary team you will also be required to provide consultation, supervision and teaching to other professionals. There will be opportunity to work a proportion of this role remotely.

The role involves developing psychology interventions and an associated strategy for service delivery for working with clients who present risks to themselves and/or others and who have histories of trauma and abuse. They will also be involved in supervising Trainee Psychologists as well as Clinical Associate Psychologists (CAPS), which the Psychological Services Directorate has taken an active role in facilitating the recruitment and training of. The role also involves offering advice and consultation on client’s psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to non-professional carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s and Trust’s policies and procedures.

The service provides an environment for psychological therapies staff to develop their skills through high quality supervision and a supported CPD programme, ideal for staff who have an interest in developing specialisms with a focus on career progression, including generous possible training opportunities in EMDR, Schema Therapy, DBT and other modalities that link to service needs and appraisal objectives. The post holder will be expected to be the point or contact / coordinator of all PPM activity on a daily / weekly / monthly / annual basis. The post holder will be responsible for the continued development and monitoring of a Trust wide PPM Planner based on statutory requirements and best practice on a property-by-property basis. The post holder will be expected to ensure the applicable statutory, mandatory and compliance standards, Trust policy requirements and best practice codes are implemented and maintained in response to legal obligations, professional advice and NHS guidance and to develop and maintain effective processes to demonstrate compliance. The role will require the post holder to have significant experience of working with Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) systems to provide a detailed schedule of works to be entered onto the Trusts adopted CAFM System. To be responsible for allocating PPM works to the appropriate in-house maintenance engineer, or approved sub-contractor. Based on information contained within the system the post holder will be expected to utilise data held within the CAFM system to ensure that works are distributed appropriately based on skill set and changing/challenging workload of individuals in-house maintenance engineers and approved sub-contractors. Being a point of contact / coordinator for all PPM activity, the post holder will be expected to liaise closely with site based staff (including dedicated site Estates and Facilities Officers, Clinical colleagues and Corporate Staff) advising of engineer attendance and works to be carried out. This will include administering the Authority to Proceed System, including reviewing the Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMs) for suitability prior to arranging Permits to Work. The successful candidate will be expected to prepare technical specifications and tender documents. To periodically review Estates Contracts for preventative maintenance activities to ensure statutory, mandatory, departmental, and financial compliance / value for money The post holder will be expected to monitor the successful closure of PPM routines ensuring that risks attached to PPM activity (non-conformance of PPM activity and remedial actions) are appropriately managed and/or escalated as appropriate. The post holder will undertake regular internal audits to identify non-conformance of PPM activity. If during the PPM, remedial actions are identified it is the post holders responsibility to record these as reactive works from the remedials, ensure that the remedial actions are addressed and the CAFM system is updated to reflect these changes. For PPMs identified as a statutory requirement, the post holder will be expected to extract, consolidate and prioritise statutory compliance remedial work for various elements of the Estates and Facilities operations. (e.g Water Risk Assessments, Fire Risk Assessment, Fixed Electrical Tests, Lift Insurance Inspections etc.) Specifically for water management, the post holder will be required to access and monitor the water asset management database (ZetaSafe) to assure compliance and investigate all non-conformance. Overseeing the remedial actions to ensure failed assets are returned to a compliant status according to the L8 legislation. The post holder will be expected to identify and investigate any gaps in the schedule, creating new PPMs where necessary. The post holder will be expected to work closely with the departments Systems Manager to ensure that quality systems are introduce and maintained in relation to information/documentation/data relating to PPM activity is appropriately managed and uploaded within the relevant systems (i.e. CAFM / Shared Drive). The post holder will introduce and maintain quality systems to manage the Service Sheets and The post holder will be expected to develop and maintain a good understanding of the Maintenance Module and Compliance Module within the Trusts adopted CAFM System. Information/documentation/data will be validated for input into the Maintenance Module and Compliance Module from various sources (internally and externally) To analyse statistical information to: o Monitor trends, and identify areas that require further investigation. o Produce technical and routine management reports on all PPM activity as designated by Estates and Facilities Managers (location specific) that will assist in the effective use of resources/asset management and ultimately cost benefit for the business. o Assist in KPI monitoring The post holder will be expected to develop and maintain a robust Asset Management register reflecting appropriate servicing and inspections in line with the requirements. To organise quarterly PPM review meetings with attendance delegated by the Estates and Facilities Managers and Compliance Managers to ensure that the Trust is fully compliance across all facets of PPM activity (statutory requirements / best practice) As delegated by the Estates and Facilities Manager (location specific) and/or Compliance Manager to undertaken the role of Authorised Person (AP) / Deputy Authorised Person where appropriate, subject the appropriate and relevant training being provided and undertaken. At attend and participate in the compliance related meetings (i.e. Water Task and Finish Group and Fire Task and Finish Group meetings or as designated by the Estates and Facilities Managers). Coordinating any remedial actions (i.e. from the Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) and Water Risk Assessments (WRAs)) and play a fundamental role in organising the necessary work to ensure regulations are met. Our communications team supports the delivery of the priorities and objectives of the ICB through the delivery of excellent communications focused on our patients, staff and wider communities alongside supporting the development of excellent relationships with partners and stakeholders locally, regionally and nationally. As Communications Officer you will support the communications team to advise on and deliver communications both corporately and for key strategic programmes including health inequalities, prevention and population health management. COMPETENCY BASED KEY DELIVERABLES Content Creation: Producing high-quality written content such as press releases, articles, blog posts, social media updates, and website content to inform and engage both internal and external stakeholders. Media Relations: Building and maintaining positive relationships with media outlets, journalists, and press contacts. Responding to media inquiries and organizing media events or press conferences when necessary. Crisis Communications: Assisting in crisis communication planning and execution, providing timely and accurate information during emergencies or sensitive situations. Branding and Design: Ensuring consistent application of NHS branding guidelines across all communication materials, and overseeing the design of visual assets such as posters, flyers, and infographics. Event Management: Organizing and promoting NHS events, conferences, and public engagement activities to raise awareness and foster community participation. Monitoring and Evaluation: Tracking the effectiveness of communication activities using metrics and analytics. Evaluating the impact of campaigns and making data-driven recommendations for improvement. Collaboration with Stakeholders: Working closely with other departments, healthcare professionals, patient groups, and community organisations to align communication efforts and support various initiatives. Research and Trend Analysis: Staying informed about the latest communication trends, healthcare industry developments, and public attitudes towards healthcare to inform communication strategies. Budget Management: Managing the communication budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions, and reporting on expenditure. Training and Development: Conducting workshops or training sessions for NHS staff on communication best practices and guidelines.

Integrate with the Operational Management Team to share ideas and improve operations, recommending, supporting, and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimise results and improve quality of delivery. Responsible for working with managers to identify, develop and implement business improvement opportunities across Blood Sciences, ensuring delivery against their associated outcomes. Perform Biomedical analyses and processes, managing workload processing to comply with both Quality Standards and Key Performance Indicators. Undertake business process analysis and statistical analysis for improvement projects to support wider change. Manage the introduction of new technologies/processes and to maximise the benefits accrued. Support the creation of a culture that embraces managed change and continuous improvement through acting as a role model for transformation and sharing those skills to empower local teams. Work collaboratively with staff and key stakeholders to ensure engagement participation in the planning, progress and completion of changes. Proactive management and containment of risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies, ensuring successful delivery of change and minimum disruption to business continuity. Ensure project scope, goals, benefits, and deliverables are defined. Ensure appropriate monitoring of change initiatives through KPIs aligned to wider business objectives. Plan and prioritise work allocations, training plans, for both yourself and junior staff, responding appropriately to the needs of routine and urgent activities. Provide training, and professional leadership to staff in your area of responsibility, this includes monitoring their performance against laboratory standards and their training plans. Coach and facilitate teams and individuals to identify and implement improvement opportunities. Ensure compliance with all policies as required by regulatory directives, accreditation bodies and local management, including; - Healthcare Professions Council Accreditation (HCPC) - Pathology First policies and SOPs - MHRA and any other body in area of responsibility Produce and manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Utilise the laboratory LIMS, Q-Pulse quality monitoring system and other application software according to authorised protocols including assisting in computer data entry in all areas of the laboratory. Maintaining software systems and updating as required. Track milestones and deliverables effectively and report and communicate progress to stakeholders. Report and investigate all incidents and adverse events entering the information in the CAPA module of Q-pulse in a timely manner, conducting Root Cause analysis and remedial action as required. Chair/lead and/or participate in Technical, Training Quality, Audit and Management meetings as required. Attendance at LIMS user groups as required. Be proficient in use of ERP system (Axional) Maintain the standards of conduct required by the Healthcare Professions Council (HCPC) as a registered Biomedical Scientist. Demonstrate on-going competency against training plans and by peer assessment and participate positively in CPD (continuous professional development) activities through academic or practical experience.
