What the Senior Director, Affluent & Consumer Segments does at Visa:
The Senior Director, Affluent & Consumer Segments will be responsible for anticipating, identifying, devising, sizing, planning for and executing Visa’s approach to established and emerging consumer segments in Asia-Pacific.
Initially focused on an overhaul of Visa’s proposition for affluent consumers, the SD, will lead cross-functional initiatives to update our product mix, proposition features, offers, pricing and benefits plans, to determine the best Go-to-market, channel approach and communications strategy. To achieve this the role holder, will lead a small team of direct reports in Visa’s Singapore Hub team, and will be the leader responsible for marshalling cross-functional teams across all main functions of Visa in Singapore and across the region to achieve desired outcomes and goals
The role will require regular liaison with colleagues from across Visa’s other regions (CEMEA, EU, LAC and North America) and very frequent collaboration with Global colleagues in our San Francisco HQ. The role holder will be the thought leader on the Affluent segment in all its facets, for the Asia Pacific region and will be expected to rapidly develop Visa’s position and approach towards other key consumer segments following on from Affluent.
Reporting to the Head of Consumer Solutions in region, as part of the Consumer Solutions group, the role is to be a visible product leader in the region and across the globe and as such to bring thought leadership, subject matter expertise, people and stakeholder management skills and rigorous process and budget management experience to the role.
Notwithstanding competitive and regulatory headwinds, Visa remains the leader in provision of payment products to the mass-affluent and high net worth segments, a key focus of this role is to retain and grow this business with our issuing partners, merchants and ultimately for these consumers, as well as examining what other affluent segments Visa should seek to attract with new and updated products and propositions. As part of this objective, the role-holder will lead the process of gathering, evaluating and prioritizing product requirements, building a business case for new product features and platforms and executing the build and readiness activities to deliver these solutions.
The SD will also work closely with the Head of Solution Commercialization to oversee the go-to-market and Commercialization activities for new Affluent products and solutions as well as with Visa’s Cross-Border team, Visa Technology, Design & Architecture and Client Services teams to add new product features and customize our solutions based on market needs. The role-holder will be responsible for developing a compelling commercial proposition for each market execution, market sizing, internal and external narrative development, pricing strategy, the approach to IRF and client economics as well as product tech development. In this capacity, the role-holder will also have responsibility for solution lifecycle management and coordination of the activities underpinning these efforts across key stakeholder groups such as Finance, Client Services, Legal, Compliance, Marketing etc.
Ideally, the SD should be able to hold and facilitate technical discussions with both internal and Client technology stakeholders and advocate for the most effective and efficient technical architecture and implementation methodologies to expedite product delivery.
The SD will need to be highly collaborative, possess strong program management experience and have solid technical product development experience as well as strong commercial understand. The role holder will also need to be experienced in working across markets, cultures and areas of specialism within Visa and client organizations.

Consumer Solutions span all life-stage and income segments across Visa’s Asia-Pacific markets from entry-level Prepaid and Debit products through to High Net Worth credit propositions and solutions, and as such the team is a key platform for revenue generation and consumer engagement for Visa and our clients. The development of new innovative card products is an essential component of the next phase of credit growth in the region, and this role will be instrumental in executing our strategy to address the opportunity.
