The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Army National Guard (ARNG) Surface Maintenance Manager. Provides management direction, control, and accountability for ARNG surface maintenance programs and activities. These consist of, but are not limited to, the Combined Support Maintenance Shop (CSMS), Maneuver Area Training Equipment Site (MATES), Unit Training Equipment Site (UTES), and Field Maintenance Shops (FMS). Work requires comprehensive managerial knowledge of the principles, concepts, and practices involving ARNG surface maintenance facilities, equipment, and services.

• Manages, directs, coordinates, and oversees the ARNG State Surface Maintenance program.
• Determines goals and develop plans independently or jointly with higher management.
• Plans and schedules work and production to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjust short-term priorities.
• Assigns work in consideration of employee skills and mission requirements.
• Manages all aspects of the maintenance program, to include long- and short-range planning, maintenance training and proficiency, human resources direction, budgeting, etc.
• Provides technical and administrative advice to the Director of Logistics (DOL), commanders, and various staff officers regarding the surface maintenance programs, fiscal matters, organizational planning, and staffing for all levels of maintenance.
• Evaluates accomplishment of the surface maintenance program to ensure systems and programs are functioning properly; effective utilization and maintenance of equipment; and that projects are accomplished within established deadlines.
• Directs and coordinates the correction of maintenance deficiencies affecting unit readiness.
• Serves as program manager for surface maintenance funds.
• Exercises significant responsibilities in dealing with, or advising, higher ranked officials of other units or organizations.

The Registered Nurse in this position functions as Case Manager for DVAMC's Inpatient Medicine Teams. Inpatient Case Management falls under Social Work Service. The Registered Nurse is responsible for coordination of case management services for Veteran admitted to inpatient medicine units at the Durham VA Medical Center, working in collaboration as core member of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate safe discharge planning.

The Registered Nurse Case Manager is responsible to:

1. Identify individual and groups of Veterans in need of care management services.
2. Assess patients to identify needs, issues, resources and care goals, identifies resources and critical factors for achieving desired outcomes for discharge, post hospitalization recovery and/or health maintenance/improvement.
3. Investigate complex patient care problems and promptly seeks consultation and/or mobilizes resources to meet care needs.
4. Assess critical factors and/or barriers to care goal achievement across the continuum of care services within and between organizational entities.
5. Evaluates outcomes and documents and reports findings as needed.
6. Assume a leadership role in utilizing problem-solving methodologies in system and/or process problems that impact on patient care, staff performance, and/or system improvements.
7. Displays leadership in identifying and evaluating issues and implementing processes to improve clinical programs and administrative systems.
8. Analyze ethical/care issues, applying appropriate theoretical principal and ensures application of institutional policy.
9. Initiate referrals based upon the patient's healthcare needs, eligibility, and resources available.
10. Complies with use and maintenance of RME devices according to VA Policy, and follows standard operating procedures in cleaning and/or reprocessing reusable medical equipment.
11. Delegates activities related to RME to ancillary staff.

Responsibilities:



· Carry out the duties of a Nursery Manager

· Recruiting employees and providing ongoing training in best care practices

· Developing and maintaining the nursery budget

· Arranging marketing materials

· Monitoring the condition of the facility and equipment and organising maintenance, repairs and new items as required

· Updating parents and Carers about their child's progress and behaviour

· Answering enquiries about enrolment, payments and practices

· Developing and implementing an age-appropriate program of annual events and activities

· Preparing the nursery for Ofsted inspections and following inspector recommendations



Knowledge and Understanding:



· Knowledge and understanding of the Every Child Matters Aims and Outcomes

· Knowledge of the EYFS Standards and the Children Act 2004 and the Childcare Act 2006 and Ofsted inspection framework

· Knowledge of Health and Safety issues and legislation

· Knowledge of Safeguarding Children /Child Protection issues and procedures and the role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead.

· A relevant level 3 childcare qualification or higher in Early Years Care and Education

· Nursery management /supervision including staff management experience including organising staff workloads and the allocation of nursery places maintaining occupancy levels

· Significant experience of working in an Early Years Care and Education Setting

· Experience in role as Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator, referring children to appropriate professionals and meetings there needs within the nursery provision.

· Experience in working effectively in partnership with parents /carers

· Experience of undertaking staff appraisals and identifying and meeting staff training needs

· Experience of working in a multi -agency and multi- disciplinary environment

· Experience of record keeping and maintaining confidentiality
