What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have significant experience in one or more of the services above and, ideally, have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). We are looking for someone with high level interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide strong leadership across the sector. It is vital that you have proven experience and knowledge of early intervention, SEND, EY funding and multi-agency working. You will also be part of the departmental senior leadership team, so will need to have a strategic vision and understanding of a whole range of education services, 0-25. The ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships is highly essential for this role.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in either early years and childcare or family services.
The post will require the need to be mobile and move around the city, so a full clean driving licence with access to your own vehicle will be advantageous but not essential.

I am currently representing a excellent hard FM compliance services provider who have a exciting new opportunity for a Commercial Gas Engineer / Supervisor to join a growing team with the view to progress into a contract management role and become office based.

Based in Essex they provide compliance, M&E, fire and security works to a wide range of blue chip commercial clientele including universities, high street shops, restaurants and local council contracts. They have been successfully operating for over 30 years with over 60 engineers across different disciplines on their books.

Due to growth of their pre-existing contracts they are in need of a Commerical Gas engineer / sueprvisor from a commercial gas bias o help grow a new team within reactive and repair services.

The ideal candidate will be asked to deliver PPMs , attend reactive, attend quote request / site surveys, onsite training for existing engineers etc, auditing engineers etc. the onsite element will decrease over time the more the division grows with the view to be permeant office based running the division.

Initially you will be looking at a split of 2 – 3 days a week on the road and 2 days a week office based with the view for this to increase as the division grows and progress into a contract management position and come off the tools.

THE ROLE:

• Ideally someone who is from a senior / supervisory level in Commercial Gas Qualified and looking to take the next step. Any additional qualifications such as AC is a advantage but not a must.
• Ideally someone based North Kent, Essex or East London and reasonable commute to office.

Peripatetic Manager

Key Activities:

To act as a peripatetic manager in services that require support. Overall management of services in need and coordination with Service Improvement Managers to improve the service and or meet regulatory/ Contract/ Compliance requirements.
To work with homes and services to ensure best practice, compliance and exemplary work by implementing and managing high standard quality assurance practices.
Work closely with the Head of Quality in identifying solutions to at risk services
To work with the Operational Managers in developing and implementing service improvement plans for specific services identified as at risk.
To lead on the implementation of those plans and provide ongoing support to ensure compliance and improvement against agreed targets.
Ensure improvement plans and actions are clearly understood in the service.
Ensure that all service staff are engaged in improving the service.
Set up systems for achieving the plan, monitoring progress and ensuring timescales are achieved
To be a mentor and a coach in skilling up the incumbent staff team so that improvement is sustainable.
Identify and coordinate the necessary resources needed.
To rebuild relationships with external stakeholders and integrate the management staff team in that process
To provide the Head of Quality with regular service/region reports on progress with improving standards and compliance.
To monitor the processes and procedures which ensure the safety and welfare of children and vulnerable adults served by the Company and to monitor practice throughout identified services, and to urgently advise the Head of Quality and Operations Directors of any emergency child or vulnerable adult protection issues.
To carry out investigations, as required by the Head of Quality and/or Operations Directors, and to work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to develop, implement and monitor remedial action plans.
To promote the corporate quality assurance agenda.
Comply with all Regulations regarding statutory visits and reports ensuring compliance and communication of all issues to Operations Directors and the Head of Quality.

Experience:

Experience at a management level and experienced in leading teams for which they have no direct line management.
LD/Social Care Managerial background
A thorough understanding of the regulatory environment
Experienced in emergency management, stabilizing services in crisis and turnaround project management.
Experienced investigator, planner and implementer.

Thurrock Council is seeking an experienced Building Safety Manager to join the Technical Services Team within the Housing Department.
We have a housing portfolio of approximately 10,000, the assets themselves are spread across the Borough and vary significantly in regard to size and build type. The portfolio includes a large number of residential flats of which include fifteen high rise residential tower blocks and it is for these that we are seeking two experienced Building Safety Managers.

The Building Safety Manager's will play a key role in the future management of these tower blocks, the purpose of these roles is to work with various teams within the housing department to effectively manage the tower blocks in respect to building and fire safety by ensuring they coordination the health and safety requirements of planned, major, and cyclical obligations within these buildings in line with legislative requirements.
The successful candidates will play a leading role in resident communication in these buildings to ensure that residents are provide with a suitable platform to engage in regards to the management of the tower blocks. The post holder will also be required to consult with residents on changes to the building strategies to ensure these are easily understood and effectively communicated to all residents and stakeholders.

One key aspect of this role will be the responsibility for managing, reviewing and updating the building safety files for the high-rise buildings that are assigned to them.
