The OpportunityReporting to the Head of Health Safety and Wellbeing for Customers and Corporate, you'll lead a flexible team of HS&E Advisors. Your team will provide expert advice and operational support to around 1,250 employees and leaders across Smart Metering and Electric Vehicle Installations (SM&EVI), EDF Business Solutions (EBS) and Wholesale Market Services (WMS) in offices and the field.

You’ll collaborate across our SM& EVI, EBS and WMS teams providing expert H&S advice for residential and business installations, sharing resources and driving continuous improvement through learning.
You’ll understand and manage the risk profiles across SM&EVI, EBS, and WMS, ensuring high-risk activities comply with policies and standards. As part of the Reimagining Field Project you’ll input and drive a cultural change from a Health Safety and Wellbeing perspective.
You’ll lead the end-to-end best practices in Health, Safety, and Wellbeing across all sites and contractors, developing plans and making sure that standards are met. You'll investigate incidents with senior leaders, learning from events and making recommendations for improvements.
You’ll monitor and enhance contractor HS&W performance, ensuring compliance. With autonomy, you’ll guide H&S decisions within the business context, advising senior leaders.
As the Senior Manager, you’ll steer the HS&W strategy using data to set objectives. You'll influence senior management to achieve Zero Harm and legal compliance. You'll develop strategies and policies, ensuring field activities meet all regulations.
Driving a culture of Health, Safety and Wellbeing, you'll identify improvement opportunities and solutions to support new business needs. You'll collaborate with companywide H&S experts, Trade Union partners, People partners, regulatory bodies, and third parties, providing guidance and support to your team and contribute to the maintenance of management systems and ISO standards.

You’ll have a passion for people and strong focus on helping the Customers business achieve its goals. You’ll be open-minded, and ready to think differently, proactively and autonomously using your judgment to challenge ways of working and make decisions balanced with a health and safety lens. Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills are crucial.
Ideally you should have a NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, NVQ Level 5 in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent experience. It’s a plus if you have other qualifications such as:
- Chartered Membership of IOSH or are working towards it.
- NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management or IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management.
- Competence in CDM 2015 regulations and relevant legislation.
- Extensive experience in evaluating, monitoring, and controlling subcontractor operations and managing an effective HS&E management system and ISO accreditations.
