About this opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the External Reporting team coordinating our financial reporting processes!
As part of Central Finance, there are around twenty of us across both London and Bristol. We're responsible for coordinating and leading all aspects of the external reporting process. We also produce the quarterly News Releases and Interim Management Statements as well as the full Financial Documents at year end and the Group's US filings and FINREP returns. In addition, we do the financial control for Lloyds Bank and the Bank of Scotland.
Shareholders and regulators alike rely on LBG's externally reported numbers to assess risks and make key decisions and it is our job to make sure that they have the most accurate and reliable data possible.
It's an especially exciting role. We're right at the very centre of the Group reviewing and consolidating submissions from all of LBG's many lines of business. There are transactions going on daily with 30 million customers, and we play a key part in reporting it all to the public.
Line management and handling relationships will be key but so too will be the ability to critically review and interpret financial information. So if that sounds like fun then this could be the role!
What you'll be doing:
You'll play a pivotal role in the production of the UK financial documents, 20F reporting to the SEC, and FINREP to the PRA and EBA. Your key responsibilities will include:
-
Demonstrate the highest level of accuracy in reviews and attention to detail ensuring financial information being reported is of the topmost quality.
-
Establish and build links with peers, teams and the finance leadership across the UK and the rest of the world, providing clear steers on the group reporting process.
-
Maintain a strong financial control environment ensuring the effective design and continued operation of SOX and other key controls.
-
Mentor and support the team in their goals of personal development and maintain consistent high quality delivery.
Why Lloyds Banking Group

What you'll need

Strong analytical review skillset.
-
A proven record of continuous improvement and a genuine passion for making processes simpler and more efficient.
-
Exhibit a very strong understanding of IFRS accounting standards and principles gained through ACA, ACCA, ACAS or other experience.
-
Previous experience of general ledger and consolidation systems is desirable, but not essential.
